Position Summary

The Data Enablement Specialist for Enterprise Strategy & Performance (ESP) role works across data-focused projects in support of the ESP organization in Business Insights & Analytics (BIA), including the development, administration and operation of data systems supporting this domain. This role requires a passion for data and a knowledge of multiple technologies and concepts, including data processing, data querying and reporting, and Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC). The candidate will be part of the Data & Analytics Enablement team in GPS IT.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, operate and enhance data management and analytic-focused digital capabilities in support of the ESP organization.

  • Activities include:

  • Support the administration and operation of the BMS Enterprise Portfolio Management System, ProSight. ProSight is used for R&D Assets to generate valuations and portfolio insights, and includes components of data ingestion, transformation, and reporting with the Enterprise Data Lake (EDL)

  • Collaborate with different teams across BIA-ESP organizations to assist in developing data requirements, data refinement business rules, acceptance criteria, testing approach, training, and change management plans for data management or data analytic solutions

  • Develop a thorough understanding of the BIA-ESP and GPS data ecosystem

  • Ensure adherence to applicable data governance policies and procedures for BIA-ESP data assets including management of data access policies

Required:

  • 1+ years of experience in Information Technology or an IT-related field delivering and supporting analytic solutions

  • Demonstrated success in delivering and supporting custom-built data solutions and partnering with software vendors and service providers

  • Demonstrated experience creating architectural diagrams and understanding of infrastructure setups, managing deployments of varying complexities

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with ability to explain technical details to those that are technical or non-technical, communicating and collaborating across the matrix

  • Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, troubleshooting, and technical skills

  • Ability to work independently and effectively manage competing priorities

  • Strong customer-service; able to build relationships and work effectively in a matrix organization

  • Solid analytical and problem-solving skills to enable the identification of systemic issues

  • Attention to detail and sense of urgency

  • Ideal Candidates Would Also Have:

  • Working knowledge of/experience with ServiceNow, JIRA and SAP or a similar large scale Enterprise Resource Planning system

  • Knowledge of/experience with data/analytic technologies such as Tableau, Cloudera Data Platform (CDP), Domino, Python and AWS Cloud Products

  • Demonstrated subject matter expertise and experience working with global life sciences data related to Forecasting, Demand Planning and Portfolio Management is a plus

Other Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Computer Engineering or equivalent is preferred
