Salary Range: $50,999.65 - $92,377.68 annually, ($25.31 - $45.85/hour) based on skills and qualifications, with the high end of the range limited to applicants with significant relevant experience. Because work-life-balance is a priority at State Farm, compensation is based on our standard 38:45-hour work week!

This position is eligible for up to $2,000 in Welcome Bonuses throughout the first year of employment.

Responsibilities:

When you join our team, you can feel good knowing you are helping our customers recover from the unexpected. Weather and Catastrophe Claims Services (WCCS)-Deployed Claim Specialist handling homeowners, commercial and large loss claims from natural disasters and/or weather-related events. You will be the first point of contact to meet with our insureds, explain coverage, estimate damages, and help them through the claims process while providing Remarkable® service.

Where you'll work:

These are deployable positions with with extensive travel throughout the U.S. with our Weather Catastrophe Claims Services (WCCS) team. To meet historical weather demand areas, selected candidates are required to reside in or relocate at their own expense to the following states: AL, AR, CO, North-FL, GA, IA, IL, IN, KS, KY, LA, MD, MI, MN, MS, MO, NC, NE, OH, OK, PA, SC, SD, TN, TX, VA, WI and WV. Therefore, relocation may be necessary for legal or business reasons in the future.

  • Over a 12 month period days deployed is some 180 - 220 days on average; this is no guarantee and could be more or less than this average range.
  • A Catastrophe Day Off is provided weekly during a deployed assignment. A Provisional Weekend is available on defined intervals during deployments for a period of either 4 or 5 consecutive days off based on length of deployed assignment.
  • Length of deployment varies per business demands.
  • Must be willing to work flexible work shifts as operations dictates. May work irregular hours, including weekends, and holidays, based on workload and job requirements.
  • May be required to work overtime.
  • Position may require walking, climbing, bending, reaching, kneeling, squatting, stooping, crawling and/or lifting objects.
  • Requires frequent lifting, carrying, unfolding and climbing a ladder and utilizing appropriate equipment in accordance with safety guidelines to traverse roofs at various heights and pitches for inspection of both residential and commercial structures to gather information needed during the adjustment of a claim.
  • May be required to complete Rope and Harness Safety Training (RAST).
  • You may be required to obtain a Property and Casualty Adjuster's License in every state that requires claim handlers to be licensed.

Hours of operation are continually evaluated and may change based on business need. Successful candidates are able and willing to work flexible work shifts and may be asked to work overtime and/or irregular hours. Candidates may be asked to work outside of their assigned territory as business needs dictates.

Qualifications

Competitive Candidates must demonstrate the following:
  • Excellent customer service and decision making skills.
  • Physical agility required to allow for frequent lifting, carrying, unfolding and climbing a ladder utilizing appropriate equipment in accordance with safety guidelines to traverse roofs at various heights and pitches for inspection of both residential and commercial structures.
  • The ability to crawl in tight spaces.
  • You must have a valid driver's license.


Preferred Technical Skills:
  • Xactimate, XactContents.
  • Relevant claims adjusting experience and/or construction background is preferred.
