Our Infrastructure Specialists are responsible for keeping up with these latest and greatest of these changes and using their expertise to deliver solutions that meet the needs of our customers and products.Your Role and Responsibilities**Role Description:** As a database specialist, you will bring in Design and cloud migration experience in database areaThis role is crucial to developing enterprise-ready solutions for clients worldwide specially using cloud technologies in hybrid cloud. The role would involve working with highly skilled cloud architects and execute complex solutions for IBM clients worldwide in the area of Database Cloud Migration/Transformation. **Responsibilities:**+ Design of Database in Multicloud+ Understand current state of design for database+ Review and validate client's requirements, and product's specifications/features.+ Create the required artifacts (migration document, diagrams, run books, backup/recovery plans, etc.)+ Design the Database Migration Plan+ Work closely with customer and internal teams to gather business and technical requirements.+ Accountable for successful delivery of highly complex database migration and re-platforming initiatives that deliver lasting and measurable value to clients+ Capture, prioritize and analyze technical (functional and non-functional) requirements+ Possess strong leadership skills and further the evolution of intellectual capital and developing reusable assets+ Educate, mentor and coach teams in applying database migration techniques+ Facilitate and capture lessons learned from projects to update assets+ Develop a point of view, capture, prioritize and analyze technical (functional and non-functional) requirements+ Successfully lead Customer's database migration and transformation effortsRequired Technical and Professional Expertise+ Minimum of 10+ years of experience in IT industry+ Knowledge of Cloud Providers e.g. IBM, AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform, or VMware+ Deep experience with a variety of database technologies (Oracle, SQL Server, Maria, MySQL, Sybase)+ Experience with Cloud database re-platforming (e.g., AWS RDS, Azure SQL)+ Server Platforms (Windows, Linux, or UNIX)+ Virtualization Infrastructures (Hyper-V, VMWare, etc.)+ Understanding of up-to-date Network architecture concepts and system integration principles including high-end routers / switches, Network & Security, Network Virtualization, Cloud Network Deployments, and other related infrastructure and system components.+ Understanding of middleware, networking, application architecture, shared services and other components of n-tier applications.+ Good understanding in core tenants to be considered when designing, developing & deploying to a Cloud.+ Hands on expertise and experience for Cloud Migration projectsPreferred Technical and Professional Expertise+ Storage (IBM/EMC/HP/Hitachi/NetApp)+ Applied Azure and/or AWS infrastructure engineering and designing skills+ Applied Azure and/or AWS migration solutions**Project Experience:**+ Leading teams towards an outcome and break down impediments+ Applied Implementation 'Hands on' using Methods and/or best practices to deliver Cloud, On-Premises or Hybrid Solution+ Applied Migration Solutions (high-level technical design, low-level technical design)+ Applied Journey to Cloud Transformations (to IaaS, PaaS, SaaS) strategies and principles+ Applied Agile principles and Project Management practices+ NoneAbout Business UnitAt Global Technology Services (GTS), we help our clients envision the future by offering end-to-end IT and technology support services, supported by an unmatched global delivery network.
