USW / VLS Technical Specialist
Job Summary
Amentum is seeking a motivated individual to maximize system operational time in support of the Undersea Warfare (USW) and Vertical Launch System (VLS) lab at NSWC Dahlgren.
What you'll be doing related to USW and VLS equipment:
- Buildout
- Installation
- Repair
- Maintenance
- Reconfiguration
- Start-up
- Distance support
- Parts inventory and logistics.

Minimum Requirements
- U.S. citizenship
- Active SECRET security clearance
- Bachelor's degree in technical field and at least 5 years of job-related experience; OR Vocational/Technical school/Associates degree and at least 8 years of job-related experience OR a minimum of 13 years of engineering technician experience in surface ship weapons control and C2 systems, including the following:
- Five (5) years of concurrent engineering technician experience with Undersea Warfare weapons control and C2 systems.
- Demonstrated capability to evaluate and refine new and existing system level hardware requirements, identify any potential conflicts between design and functional requirements, and provide recommendations for updating system requirements or design options that can satisfy new requirements.
- Demonstrated capability to develop, review and analyze system engineering documentation and test and evaluation documentation.
- Demonstrated capability to perform tasking with minimal supervision
- Ability to support limited second shift testing a couple of times a month.
Preferred Qualifications
- An additional 3 years of Vertical Launch System (VLS) experience.
