Job Summary

THIS POSITION IS CONTINGENT UPON AVAILABILITY OF POSITION. THE HOURS OF OPERATION FOR THE WAREHOUSE SPECIALIST - 2ND SHIFT IS MONDAY-FRIDAY, FROM 2:30PM - 11:00PM.

Purpose and Scope:

Works under the supervision of a designated Lead, Supervisor or Manager. Must have or be able to obtain license to use MHE within 30 days of selection. Performs range of duties within the classified department, ensures items being received, stowed or shipped meet the requirements of MIL STD 129N. Receives daily work from Lead or Supervisor. The current opening is to fill a need on day shift, however the incumbent may be asked to work, swing shift, which may include weekends and holidays.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Visually inspects material for identity and condition.
  • Make necessary changes to the accountable inventory system as required.
  • Performs physical count of assets, research count discrepancies, and recommend changes as required.
  • Performs shelf-life inspection of assets in storage and make changes as required.
  • Performs weight and measurement actions of assets in storage.
  • Escorts and assists customers during warehouse location visits.
  • Re-warehouse material as needed.
  • Able to use basic processes of inspection/examination procedures for material.
  • Operates MHE.

Perform all other position related duties as assigned or requested.

Working Conditions:

The individual and supervisor assure that the degree of risk is reduced to the lowest level. Work involves repetitive motions and may involve sitting and/or standing for long periods of time. Work in this position may require the incumbent be able to lift 50 lbs. overhead and/or repetitively.

Minimum Requirements

  • Must be a United States citizen.
  • Must have high school diploma or General Education Diploma (GED).
  • Must have a valid drivers license.
  • Must have a minimum of eighteen months in material handling, supply distribution, inspection, quality assurance, or related processes.
  • Must be able to use the DSS and other automated distributions systems.
  • Must be able to follow requirements of MIL-STD 129 or DLA Manuals and other directives as required.
  • Must be licensed and experienced in the use of the MHE.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
