Job Summary

The Waste Treatment Completion Company (WTCC) Performance Assurance Specialist 1 is responsible, under the supervision and direction of the WTCC Contractor Assurance Manager, for supporting the organization’s implementation and administration of BNI’s Contractor Assurance System in accordance with the WTCC Subcontract. This position will assist in administering and providing implementation and performance support for issue management, performance metrics and reporting, trending, assessment planning and performance, and Lessons Learned.

This position shall be performed under the day-to-day direction, control, and supervision of WTCC

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES/TASKS

  • Develops and maintains expertise in the BNI Contractor Assurance System programs, processes, and procedures, including BNI specified Contractor Assurance tools.
  • Provides administrative and performance support to WTCC organizations for issue management within the BNI Corrective Action Management Program (CAMP), including assisting in the performance of trend analysis.
  • Provides administrative and performance support to WTCC organizations for implementation of the BNI Lessons Learned program.
  • Provides administrative and performance support to WTCC organizations for the performance and management of assessments in accordance with BNI assessment procedures.
  • Develops/maintains/analyzes performance indicators to monitor WTCC Contractor Assurance performance and compliance.
  • Assists in preparing monthly metrics and management reports for WTCC Contractor Assurance performance and ensures timely reporting of management issues of concern.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Performs desk work, including writing, computer workstation processes, and telephone operation. Arranges for and/or performs presentations, oral reports, planning meetings, and other formal and informal contacts, requiring long periods of sitting. Oversees field activities through inspections, testing and equipment operations, which requires walking, standing, bending, and turning along with wearing of personal protective equipment. Occasional loading, transport, and unloading of tools and/or supplies specific to an activity.

Amentum has joined with Bechtel to create an LLC, known as the Waste Treatment Completion Company (WTCC) to construct, start-up and commission the world’s largest radioactive-waste treatment plant for the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) in southeastern Washington state. The project will use vitrification technology to process and stabilize 53 million gallons of radioactive and chemical waste currently stored at the Hanford Site which is a byproduct of plutonium-production during World War II and the Cold War era.

The project is the largest undertaking of its kind ever and one of DOE’s most technically challenging cleanup projects equivalent to building two nuclear power plants. Its construction site spans 65 acres and includes facilities for pretreatment, low-activity waste vitrification, and high-level waste vitrification, as well as an analytical laboratory.


Minimum Requirements

Education/Experience:

Bachelor degree in business, quality, engineering, construction management, or economics, and 2 years of experience working in a nuclear environment such as Commercial Nuclear, Nuclear Navy, or Department of Energy, preferably in Contractor Assurance elements required by DOE Order 226.1B, Implementation of DOE Oversight Policy.

OR

Associates degree in business, quality, engineering, construction management, or economics, and 4 years of experience working in a nuclear environment such as Commercial Nuclear, Nuclear Navy, or Department of Energy, preferably in Contractor Assurance elements required by DOE Order 226.1B, Implementation of DOE Oversight Policy.

OR

High School Diploma/GED and 6 years of experience working in a nuclear environment such as Commercial Nuclear, Nuclear Navy, or Department of Energy, preferably in Contractor Assurance elements required by DOE Order 226.1B, Implementation of DOE Oversight Policy.

Preferred Skills:

Proficiency in using Microsoft Office products with advanced skills in using Microsoft PowerPoint, Word, and Excel is required. Experience using Devonway software is a plus.

This position is located at the Construction Site (22 miles north of Richland) and works a 4 x 10 schedule, M-Th, 6:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
