Lead Benefits Specialist- Rewards, Recognition and Well-Being

Work you'll do

This position is responsible for supporting Rewards, Recognition and Well-being (RRWB); specifically, the Senior Manager, US Retirement, in the management of defined contribution and defined benefit plans with a focus on the defined contribution plans. Coordination with various internal and external stakeholder groups are important to this role's success.

In this role, the Lead Specialist will be responsible for meeting coordination and content development for special purpose, quarterly, semi-annual, and annual committee meetings related to the retirement plans. This role is also responsible for the day-to-day management of the recordkeeping relationship with our third-party vendor and will liaise with the Manager, Voluntary Benefits and Pension Finance on Financial Well-being opportunities, including Cura content and webinars. Specific responsibilities of this role will include:

  • Coordination with third-party defined contribution vendor, particularly as it relates to bi-weekly payroll processes, annual processes, invoice processing, quarterly SLAs, incident reporting, meetings, and day-to-day management of projects.
  • Tracking the DC recordkeeper's ability to impact 401(k) participation and work with the Senior Manager, Retirement to look for opportunities to increase participation, improve match accumulation and address new program features, particularly those that are required by new legislation.
  • Facilitating the coordination between HRIS operations, payroll, and the DC recordkeeper to validate that the DC plan contribution allocations are operating smoothly and accurately.
  • Working with Deloitte Consulting and the CIO Office on Special Projects.
  • Managing the work associated with the Firm's Retirement Committee including meeting content preparation and subsequent follow-up.
  • Updating benefits-related applications and information on internal Deloitte webpages (content, new hire center, etc.) and deloitte.com to maintain accuracy throughout the year.
  • Performing tasks related to compliance with provisions of Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA), including the preparation of reports and filings required by federal and state agencies.
  • Managing external outreach from individuals and escalating issues to management team, as needed.
  • Testing systems and interfaces, performing reconciliations, running reports, and performing analyses for ongoing processes and special projects. Will be asked to make recommendations to improve/resolve issues, as necessary.

The individual selected for this role must have a basic knowledge of all pertinent federal and state regulations, filing and compliance requirements both adopted and pending affecting employee benefit programs, including ERISA, COBRA, FMLA, ADA, SECTION 125, Medicare, OBRA, and Social Security and DOL requirement. Individual must have the ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with appropriate discretion, work in a virtual team environment with a client service focus and . Role may require up to 20% travel, when appropriate.

The team

The benefits team is a part of the Rewards, Recognition and Well-being team within the Talent organization. The team collaborates with the businesses/channels and various stakeholders to provide strategic insight into benefits. The team advises, implements, and executes the rewards strategy and benefits approach across all Deloitte businesses.

Qualifications

Required:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent
  • Minimum 5 years of related experience
  • Strong knowledge of MS-Office tools - Word, Excel, Access, Project, PowerPoint. Strong knowledge of HRIS systems and data transmission, knowledge of Web Employee Self-Service applications.

  • Experience working in a dynamic, rapidly evolving, and matrixed organization
  • Analytical skills and ability to manage time well, prioritize effectively and handle multiple deadlines
