The Role

As a Claims Specialist in the TPA Oversight group, you will work in a collaborative environment to investigate and settle claims promptly and equitably while building and maintaining productive relationships with internal and external customers, including clients, underwriting and service teams. You will have the opportunity to use creative thinking to overcome obstacles and work to develop innovative approaches to solving customer problems. As a Claims Specialist, you will determine coverages, manage claim investigations, and resolve claims. Some travel is required. You will be required to be licensed as a claims adjuster in numerous states.

Responsibilities

  • Provide outstanding customer service and work well with the insured, broker and TPA in the adjustment of general liability casualty and business auto claims.
  • Analyze coverage and communicate coverage positions, as warranted.
  • Conduct, coordinate, and direct investigation into loss facts and extent of third-party damages. Direct and closely monitor assignments to experts and defense counsel.
  • Evaluate information on coverage, liability, and damages to determine the extent of exposure to the insured and the company.
  • Set reserves within authority or makes claim recommendations concerning reserve changes to supervisor.
  • Travel to conferences, mediations, and trials as necessary. Travel ranges from approximately 10% to 25%, but it could be more as dictated by business needs.
