Summary:

The position serves as the primary interface between BMS/VAP and the Defense Health Agency. You will be responsible for developing strong access and business relationships. Coordinate appropriate pull through utilization by brand by leveraging approved clinical and economic data with key federal decision makers and stakeholders. Lead effective coordination with select field sales colleagues in targeted federal accounts.

The position is responsible for leading numerous matrix team members in account planning and implementation, driving optimal access and appropriate utilization for the BMS portfolio across all assigned accounts in the United States Department of Defense / Defense Health Agency including their designated health plan Tricare and associated medical and pharmacy benefit administrators.

This is a remote based role. Ideally located in close proximity to a major airport.

Responsibilities:

  • Field based interaction with assigned federal accounts

  • Proactively manage access through engagement with key stakeholders, including access influencers to ensure product access and anticipate and mitigate potential challenges – engaging with Brand leadership & Access Marketing

  • Drive Account performance through matrix collaboration leveraging full BMS capabilities and resources to effectively pull-through account plan from a top-down approach

  • Effectively deliver Clinical, Access, Value, PHM, quality and unbranded messages and tools to key stakeholders

  • Establish direct relationships with C-Suite, E-Suite, Medical Directors, Pharmacy Leadership and key decision makers within assigned accounts

  • Support BMS by identifying and developing new business opportunities in collaboration with the account or its affiliates which align with BMS brand initiatives

  • Work with BMS Field Sales leadership to drive BMS initiatives and navigate the changing healthcare landscape as well as work in compliant and complimentary collaboration with the BMS Veterans Community Network PBRG

  • Effectively serve as an internal advocate for assigned account issues and priorities

  • Negotiate and secure core Terms & Conditions with -contracted DoD/DHA accounts, while proactively managing the broader relationship, and driving agreed upon product Exhibits and Amendments

  • Coordinate matrix team resources and facilitate senior executive interactions as appropriate

  • Communicate regularly with BMS contract operations team related to health system facilities’ appropriate contract pricing, and BMS Trade Team for compliance to FDA mandated REMS for select BMS products at designated Military Treatment Facilities

  • Operate in full compliance to all applicable laws and comply with BMS policies and procedures

  • Partner Internally with: Commercial Brand Leadership, Payer Marketing, Field Sales Leadership, Contract Operations, Medical Affairs, VAP leadership, BMS Enterprise leadership, Government Contract Operations, Federal Payment & Policy, Health Economics & Outcomes Research, VCN Veterans Community Network,

  • Partner Externally with: Defense Health Agency Leadership, Pharmacy Operations Division and Tricare PBM, Medical Benefit administrators, Military Treatment Facility Centers of Excellence, Federal Practitioner Organizations (AMSUS), Federal Bureau of Prisons and other affiliated Public Health Service entities.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in sciences or business preferred

  • Cardiovascular, Oncology, Hematology and or Immunology sales preferred

  • 3+ years of National/Regional Account Management experience

  • 3+ years of proven matrix team leadership required

  • Proven leadership skills and ability to network across complex internal and external environment, and lead teams without authority

  • Proven track record in access/sales/marketing

  • Well-developed relationships with key decision makers and a thorough understanding of the potential assigned accounts are preferred

  • Proven account management across a broad matrix team required

  • Proven demonstration of external customer relationship building required

  • Knowledge and previous experience in federal channel preferred but not required

  • Possesses strong business acumen and presentation skills

  • Possess executive presence and ability to interact and negotiate with senior account leadership

  • Demonstrated ability with analytical, negotiation, written and oral communication skills

  • Demonstrated effectiveness working independently and in groups in a collegial manner, including cross functional teams and internal/external networking

  • High results focused

  • Ability to travel 60%+ of the time

The starting compensation for this job is a range from $180,000 to $220,000 plus incentive cash and stock opportunities (based on eligibility). The starting pay takes into account characteristics of the job, such as required skills and where the job is performed. Final, individual compensation is decided based on demonstrated experience.
