Chubb is currently seeking candidates for a Chubb Financial Lines Executive Underwriter position in its NY region. The ideal underwriter will have significant experience handling D&O, E&O, Employment Practices, Fiduciary, Fidelity and Kidnap & Ransom products for financial institutions.

As a Chubb Financial Lines Executive Underwriter in Chubb’s Boston or New York branch, serving the Northeast Region, major duties and responsibilities are:

MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Duties may include but are not limited to:

- Solicits new and renewal submissions from brokers

- Executes on all division guidelines, portfolio management activities and initiatives

- Independently manages assigned book of business to achieve desired retention, rate and new business goals

- Establishes relationships with external partners

- Actively participates in underwriting meetings and calls

- Effectively articulates Chubb's strategy and market assessment to insureds and brokers

- Engages and utilizes local branch office resources

- Conducts travel as appropriate

- Demonstrates an in-depth understanding of all management liability product lines including Directors & Officers Liability, Fiduciary, Crime, Kidnap Ransom and Employment Practices Liability

- Reviews and assesses complex terms and conditions and provides thoughtful recommendations

- Works independently and with internal colleagues to provide exceptional service

- Utilizes various external and internal resources to assess risk with varying complexities and classes of business

- Documents underwriting files to adhere to audit and compliance standards

- Utilizes individual underwriting authority within corporate guidelines

- Guides and mentors junior staff.
