What you’ll be doing...

As part of the Verizon Consumer Group (VCG) Planning, Governance and Technology (PG&T) organization you will support VCG’s Portfolio Planning, Strategy and Compliance. The focus of the role is to support VCG GTS Organization’s overall transformational efforts across workforce planning, Finance/budget & Vendor governance.

• Budget management for the VCG GTS organization and partner with the finance and resource organizations to ensure accuracy of budget tracking.
• Annual, monthly, and ongoing reconciliation of project costs, including actual, budget, and forecast against business case/scorecard.
• Budget and resource time code reporting
• Analyze of variances between expected budget and actual results and drive collaborative establishment of action plan to resolve.
• Partner with leadership and working teams to ensure the availability of data to inform decisions.
• Take ownership of governance to ensure the integrity of time reporting and resource data.
• Partner in the annual budget process and ongoing budget maintenance to ensure timeliness and quality
• Develop reporting and dashboards to communicate budget and project needs, especially to leadership
• Refine finance models, governance and cost optimization for the portfolios

What we’re looking for...

You'll need to have:

• Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
• Six or more years of relevant work experience.
• Experience in technical project oversight, including portfolio or program management managing budgets, including actuals, forecasts, and budgets.
• Willingness to travel up to approximately 25% of the time.

Even better if you have one or more of the following:

• Four plus years’ experience managing budgets, including actuals, forecasts, and budgets,
• Experience in technical project oversight, including portfolio or program management
• Four plus years’ experience analyzing budget to identify deltas and remedying them
• Degree in finance (preferred) or Computer Science/Information Systems; Masters’ preferred
• Excellent analytical skills
• Ability to communicate effectively across different business and technology channels
• PC knowledge, including desktop applications competency (e.g., Microsoft Excel, Google Suite, Anaplan, Looker, and Fieldglass)
• Knowledge of agile project management concepts
• Knowledge of wireless telecom business practices, including accounting, finance, revenue assurance, taxation, billing, customer care, legal, device management and network operations is a plus
• Ability to excel in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and challenge the status quo
