Foam Manager

What Will You Do?

You will direct production activities for Foam Manufacturing. This position will lead and mentor production Supervisors to achieve overall performance goals for production, cost, quality and safety. The Foam Manager will coordinate production activities through planning with departmental Supervisors, Schedulers, HR Managers and Quality Systems Trainers to ensure that manufacturing objectives are accomplished in a timely and cost-effective manner. The Foam Manager will oversee day to day operations such as:

  • Hands on development of new formulations of polyurethane foams meeting customer requirements.
  • Work directly with Manufacturing for formulation scale up in plants and troubleshoot issues during scale up.
  • Perform analytical testing of polyurethane polymer articles and test specimens in accordance to a broad range of test protocols specified by ASTM or other industry organizations
  • Conduct evaluations and qualifications of alternative raw materials for functionality, stability, and cost reduction opportunities, and communicate results to management and functional teams
  • Evaluate SOPs and operation instructions in accordance with industry guidelines and standards.

What Do You Need?

  • Chemical Engineering Degree or 5 years experience in foam production, Required

  • 5 years experience in production leadership or related area, Required

  • Supervisory/Management experience

  • Management of resources to optimize equipment, facilities, employees, methods and materials

  • Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Quality Improvement principles

  • System improvement methods and capacity planning and product flow

  • Hazmat certified, Preferred
