Surface Mount Technology (SMT) Technician

Leidos Dynetics is seeking a Surface Mount Technology / X-Ray Technician to join a diverse team that to supports assembly of Printed Circuit Board Assemblies. With offices across the United States engaging in the defense, space, cyber and commercial fields, Leidos Dynetics provides responsive, cost-effective engineering, scientific and IT solutions.

Candidate will support operation of Surface Mount Technology (SMT) line building printed circuit board assemblies (PCBA’s).

Primary Responsibilities

This position involves operation of SMT equipment including solder paste screen printing, solder paste inspection, pick and place machines, reflow ovens, post reflow inspection, and x-ray. In addition to equipment operation the job will involve review of PCBA’s using microscopes and x-ray according to IPC- A-610 inspection requirements.

Basic Qualifications

• Candidate must have High School diploma/GED with 2 years of relevant experience working in a team environment.

• Candidate must be a US Citizen and possess (and be able to maintain) a Final Secret Clearance OR meet the eligibility to obtain (and maintain) a Secret Clearance.

Preferred Qualifications

The following qualifications are a plus:

• Achieved J-STD-001 and IPC-610 soldering certification within the last 5 years.

• Experience operating SMT equipment like DEK screen printer, ASM part placement, Koh Young Solder Paste and AOI experience.

• Experience soldering SMT and Thru-hole components.

• Experience using X-ray and microscopes for inspection of PCBA’s.
