Job Description:

Leidos is seeking a Business Analyst with practical knowledge and experience responsible for the analysis and evaluation of user business problems and the development of business requirements. The Business Analyst analyzes current and technical processes to formulate and develop new and modified business information processing systems. Duties include coordinating with business and technology teams to ascertain system requirements, such as program functions, output requirements, input data acquisition, execution of user acceptance, and may coordinate testing and imposition of system controls. Business Analyst also supports the user community in the application of functional business tools and support systems.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Create requirements and specifications for business needs.
• Collaborate with team members to collect, analyze, and evaluate information from multiple sources.
• Write and document business requirements, functional requirements, and design specifications.
• Present findings and recommendations to Information Technology developers.
• In collaboration with developers, create test plans, test cases, and test scripts to validate business requirements and test and/or coordinate testing of new installations or upgrades.
• Research system/user problems using various analytical and research techniques within a tax policy context.
• Work on day-to-day objectives with limited impact beyond the scope of own work area/ project team.
• Work under supervision on less complex projects/ assignments.
• Solve simple, routine technical problems following established procedures and policies. Develop products, solutions, processes using basic principles, theories and concepts within own technical specialty.
• Communicate with peers and customers to explain facts, basic analysis, processes and practices related to area.

• Candidate can fulfill all primary responsibilities stated above.
• Knowledge and experience in developing requirements based on business needs and for a technical solution.
• Ability to translate and explain business requirements to information technology stakeholders.
• Knowledge of federal income taxes.
• Good interpersonal skills and communication with all levels of the organization.
• Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently.
• Typically requires BS degree or equivalent experience and less than 2 years prior relevant experience.
• Ability to be cleared by the US Government via a Minimum Background Investigation (MBI)

Desired Qualifications:

• Experience working on projects in the Federal government
• Experience working in IRS or Treasury
• Has experience working with Agile methodologies and scrum teams
