Description

Leidos Defense Systems is seeking a highly motivated Program Manager to manage the programs within its Foreign Weapon Systems Department portfolio. The candidate will support multiple task orders and be responsible for overseeing and managing key technical programs from initiation through delivery. The candidate will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including reverse engineering and operations, to ensure successful execution of projects that align with our customers’ goals and deadlines. The ideal candidate will possess superior analytical and problem-solving skills, operate independently with limited supervision and feedback, be a strong team player, and have the ability to establish solid working relationships with technical staff and peers within the division, as well as our external Government customers.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Plan, coordinate, and manage small, medium, and large-scale programs
  • Ensure program(s) within portfolio are executed on-time, within budget, and remain within scope
  • When necessary, create work breakdown structure(s) defining all activities and develop schedules to monitor and track dependencies, milestones, and deliverables
  • Actively monitor, track, and manage program tasks, performance, subcontractors, risks, costs, and schedule
  • Integrate all functions and necessary activities to ensure the program meets customer expectations and contract requirements
  • Conduct quality review and submission of all deliverables
  • Provide strong, proactive leadership while engaging multi-discipline teams and responding to business development needs as necessary
  • Create program management plans, work with technical leadership to set expectations, and ensure plans are driven by organizational procedures
  • Work with Program financial analysts to monitor program finances, provide AOP forecasting, track and report monthly actuals vs. planned expenditures, and implement corrective actions as necessary to address any variances
  • Implement Leidos best practices and continuous improvement initiatives to optimize program execution
  • Foster a collaborative and innovative team culture focused on achieving program goals

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering / technology or business and 12+ years of prior relevant experience. Technical degree preferred
  • Experience overseeing technical teams and managing R&D programs
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, management, and organizational skills
  • Demonstrated ability to take initiative and work independently under stringent timelines
  • Experience with captures, including business development, customer relations, and proposal management/writing
  • Experience with financial systems and managing program budgets
  • Proven ability to build and maintain lasting customer relationships, external stakeholder networks, and teaming partnerships
  • Proficiency using Microsoft Office Suite, including Microsoft Project, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
  • Candidate must be a US Citizen and possess (and be able to maintain) a Final Secret clearance

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related technical field and 10+ years of prior relevant experience
  • Proficiency in project management tools and software
  • Experience with agile scheduling
  • Project Management Professional (PMP)
  • Active Top Secret/SCI clearance

Pay Range:

Pay Range $108,550.00 - $196,225.00
