The VP & Assistant General Counsel, WW VAP & HEOR & Global Policy & Govt Affairs has responsibility for leading the legal support for (1) WW Value, Access & Payment & HEOR Organization (WW VAP) and (2) Global Policy & Government (GPGA) team including the US Value, Access & Payment & Field HEOR organization and US Policy and Government Affairs team. Member of the WWVAP and GPGA leaderships teams, along with peers from other functional areas. Legal point for the SVP of WW VAP and SVP of GPGA. Lead, manage and influence across the WW VAP & GPGA organizations, ensuring the provision of high-quality legal advice and a commitment to integrity, quality, compliance and ethics.

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver pro-active, practical, solution-oriented advice that drives informed decision-making in support of WWVAP and GPGA strategies and execution. Strategically and proactively lead legal work with respect to all aspects of market access including but not limited to global and US coverage issues, policy work, pricing strategies, integration of 340B and patient support services.,
  • Establish effective relationships and influence across the Law Department to pro-actively problem solve and ensure efficient delivery of consistent, high-quality legal advice across the WWVAP and GPGA organizations.
  • Build strong relationships with diverse, global stakeholders at all levels of the organization that build trust and facilitate information sharing and collaboration.
  • Maintain knowledge of policy changes globally and in the US, current litigation and business, legal and industry trends to identify and mitigate potential legal and business risks in a rapidly changing environment.
  • Champion simplification and clarification of, and education on, relevant principles, policies, procedures and guidance.
  • Lead, manage and effectively communicate with a diverse team of high-performing lawyers, ensuring engagement and development of their skills and capabilities.

Qualifications & Desired Experience:

  • At least 15 years of experience working in the pharmaceutical industry or related experience is required.
  • A law degree from a recognized US Law School and a license to practice law in the United States
  • Knowledge of general pharmaceutical industry practices, applicable industry codes and relevant healthcare anti-kickback and bribery laws, regulatory policy and contracts is required.
  • Deep knowledge of US healthcare laws as they relate to payer relationships and contracting, coverage and reimbursement, pricing strategy, price reporting obligations and patient support programs.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain strong influential relationships across the organization, including business leadership, and within the Law Department.
  • Ability to communicate complex issues clearly and succinctly, verbally and in writing.
  • Experience with advising senior business leaders and advancing company initiatives as a member of cross-functional business leadership teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to build high performing teams and develop individual talent.
  • Excellent active listening skills.
