Avionics ISR Technician - (Mechanic III)

Job Summary

Responsible to the C-26 Director of Maintenance for overall site operations including the performance and supervision of inspections at the organizational, intermediate and depot level on C-26 aircraft. Responsibilities may include management of C-26 parts, other A&P Mechanics, planning, scheduling, and performance of maintenance, repair, and modification to airframe, ISR/avionics, engines, sub-systems, and related support equipment.

Essential Responsibilities:

• Interface with operational customer to develop flying schedules and plan major maintenance events, completes daily and monthly operational reports, documents inventory usage, controls workflow. Work with other A&P/ISR Mechanics and technical representatives to trouble shoot, diagnose and solve unusual and complex maintenance problems.
• Manage aircraft maintenance safety programs and serves as a member on the Safety Committee. Ability to apply logic and good judgment, understand technical order diagrams and procedures, use test equipment for analysis of airframe, engine, flight control, pneudraulic, fuel, electrical/electronic systems, problems.
• Plan and schedule aircraft utilization and maintenance activity and coordinates performance with operational customer. Maintain accurate parts inventory. Assign maintenance and repair tasks and monitors/evaluates their completion.
• Manage safety program.
• Service, repair and overhaul aircraft and aircraft engines to ensure serviceability. Repair, replace, and rebuild aircraft structures, landing gear, power plants, fuel systems (including tanks and fuel/metering control systems), and functional components using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, rivet gun, and drills.
• Inspect and repair power plants (engines) malfunctions, including cracked components, oil leaks, etc. Diagnose malfunctions, isolate causes and correct breaks. Test engine operation, using test equipment to locate source of malfunction. Replace and repair damaged components, use hand tools, gauges, and test equipment.
• Remove engine and major components from aircraft, using hoist or other lifting devices. Disassemble and inspect parts for wear, warping, or other defects. Repair and replace defective engine components and reassembles and install engine in aircraft.
• Adjust, repair, or replace instruments, avionics and navigations, flight control, electrical/electronic, fuel/oil systems and aircraft accessories. Perform aircraft and vehicle services, including engine wash /cleaning, parts lubrication, and maintenance checks.
• Licensed by Federal Aviation Administration as an Airframe & Powerplant Mechanic. May service engines and airframe components at flight line operations making repairs, short of overhaul, required to ensure aircraft safe operating condition. May specialize in repair and modification of engines, structural components, precision repair, functional spare parts, and assemblies.
• Recommend revisions to maintenance procedures to improve efficiency and ensure quality workmanship.

• Tools are Required; Must provide own tools/toolbox. Tools must be shadowed in the toolbox and tools etched with PID.

Perform all other position related duties as assigned or requested.

Skills/Experience/Licensures:

• Seven (7) years’ experience as an aircraft mechanic with five (5) years actual and recent experience on C-26 or SA-227 aircraft required.
• Licensed by the FAA as an Airframe and Power Plant Mechanic.
• Minimum 3 years of experience with Avionics/ISR equipment.
• FAA certificated A&P mechanic if possible and experience with Force X, Aero Computer and other related equipment.
• Must be able to perform maintenance at the O&I levels.
• Perform all other position related duties as assigned or requested.
• Must be able to inspect, repair, and operate ground support and auxiliary equipment.
• Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and be able to operate a government general-purpose vehicle. Position may require travel.
• Must be qualified for and obtain a Secret Clearance within six (6) months of start date.
• Must be a citizen of the United States
