Job Summary

Amentum is currently searching for a Production Control Clerk to work at our Sierra Army Depot / Herlong, CA site.

Essential Responsibilities include:

  • Maintain the Production Schedule to accurately reflect due dates and quantities for material release requirements, fabrication and assemblies, kitting, inspection and shipping, as well as actual completion dates.
  • In response to the Production Schedule and Program Lead direction, release material for production, fabrication and kitting efforts, including Purchase Order Requests, internal Work Orders and outsourcing and tracking of same to assure timely receipt to meet delivery requirements. Confers with department supervisors to determine material required or overdue and to locate or expedite material.
  • Coordinates and expedites flow of material, parts, and assemblies within or between departments in accordance with production and shipping schedules or department supervisors, priorities.
  • Requisitions material and establishes delivery sequences to departments according to job order priorities and anticipated availability of material.
  • Arranges for in-plant transfer of materials when required to meet production schedules, coordinating necessary approvals between Program Leads.
  • Coordinate inter-department efforts to assure conformance to program schedules and timely completion of program deliverables.
  • This Clerk calculates such factors as types and quantities of items produced, materials used, amount of scrap, frequency of defects, and worker and department production rates, using a computer, calculator, and/or spreadsheets.
  • Maintain the Parts & Vendors database by entering Bills of Material for all new programs and updating per Engineering Changes to drawings.
  • Maintain the Engineering Change log to assure fabrication is completed to the latest revision and that all changes are incorporated into the fabrication and kitting, as required for in process, completed and/or fielded assemblies or kits.
  • Conducts assigned portions of inventories. Uses bar code wands, labeling equipment, laser scanning equipment, and/or computer terminals. May require a CAC for system access.
  • Operate tools and equipment in performance of duties as approved per management.
  • Maintains the Material Status Sheet so as to accurately reflect the current status of purchased and manufactured parts at all times.
  • Observes and follows all safety rules and procedures, including wearing required personal safety equipment.
  • Performs all housekeeping and maintenance duties as needed to ensure workspace upkeep.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned, requested, or related, unless otherwise excluded by this description or the established collective bargaining agreement.

Minimum Requirements

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and basic computer usage is required.
  • Must have ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Twelve months job related experience and/or training is required.
  • High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED) is required.
  • Must be physically capable of; lifting 45 pounds, standing on stepladders, and reaching overhead.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license.
  • Must maintain a valid driver’s license to operate AECOM or Government motorized equipment/vehicles.
  • Position may require travel.
  • Position requires the ability to pass and maintain a Security Clearance.
  • Must provide proof of U.S. citizenship.
  • Must be able to speak, read and understand English.
  • This position requires the candidate to pass a pre-employment physical examination and urinary analysis.
  • Must be available for any shift, must be willing to work weekends and other hours as needed.
