Job Summary

Amentum is currently seeking a Junior Network Engineer to support the Pacific Missile Range Facility (PMRF) Range Networks.

POSITION SUMMARY:

Provides entry level network support towards engineering design, security, administration, and organization to all classified and unclassified PMRF mission specific networks. Under the guidance of supervisory and senior network engineers, configures and maintains routers, switches, firewalls, and other network devices in accordance with Department of Defense (DoD), Department of Navy (DoN), and Pacific Missile Range Facility (PMRF) policy. Assists with system wide troubleshooting and problem resolution both in "stand-down" as well as "live" mission environments.

MAJOR JOB ACTIVITIES:

· Execute Junior Network Engineering for the Range Networks, IT Department

· Selectively operate, maintain, and configure PMRF network hardware, associated on classified and unclassified network equipment, to include: routers, switches, firewalls, IDS, IPS, and other linked technological infrastructure

· Assist in daily review of audits logs, supporting resolution of event diagnosis data

· Address routine network-centric Cyber Security scanning and configuration requirements

· Practices routine Cyber Security related tasks/requirements utilizing the following tools: Eye Retina, DISA STIGS, SCAP, SRR scripts, and/or Nessus

· Under guidance, maintain 100% network device compliance with DoD directed IAVM program(s)

· Participate in successful DIACAP, PIT, and RMF C&A Package submissions under the guidance of supervisor and/or senior members

· Assist in preparation of status reports, technical reports, procedures (operational and maintenance) to Management and Customers.

· Follow the requirements in the Manu Kai Configuration Management Plan for all hardware and software relevant to the PMRF networks.

· Perform network asset/property accountability and license management within specifications of PMRF contract

· Assist and support lab environment testing/build-outs with senior team members

· Perform other additional duties as required.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL ELEMENTS:


Lifting: Over 50 lbs

Positions: Walking or Standing, Crawling, Kneeling or Cramped, Work requiring repeated stooping, Sitting, Work requiring repeated or frequent stair climbing

Pushing/Pulling: 25-50bs

Environmental: Customer Contact, Extended Work Day, Confined Work Area, Office Laboratory, Field Assignment, Inclement Weather


Minimum Requirements

Education:

· A.S. Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, MIS or other related scientific field.

Experience:

· Two years experience in the specific field of assignment or similar discipline

· Knowledge of IT systems, to include Windows, RHEL, and comprehensive networking concepts - Cisco and/or Juniper certifications are considered a plus

· Knowledge in Cyber Security Methods and Techniques considered a plus

Other requirements:

· DOD 8570.1M IAT Level II (GSEC, Security+ CE, and CCENT/CCNA within six months of day of hire)

· Possesses professional and ethical standards and be able to pass a thorough background investigation

· Willing to proactively plan workload and resources with oversight

· Critical thinking - Proven problem solver

· Good written and oral communication skills are required including ability to organize

Security Clearance:

Secret security clearance is required. Applicants selected either must currently possess a Secret clearance or will be subject to a Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements to obtain clearance prior to commencement of employment, and maintain a security clearance for access to classified information or Closed/Restricted Areas throughout duration of employment.
