Junior RF Engineer
Job Summary
Amentum is seeking a Junior RF Engineer to join our team providing technical and engineering support in Norfolk, VA.
Successful candidate will:
- Conduct electromagnetic environment (EME) and radio frequency (RF) assessments of DoD surface vessels, submarines, and shore facilities for hazards to ordnance, personnel, and fuel.
- Requires worldwide travel to measure EMEs, analyze data, conduct research, and develop technical reports that provide operational guidance for Fleet personnel.
- Will utilize test equipment such as spectrum analyzers and RF field meters and probes.
On the job training and mentorship will be provided.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Electrical Engineering, Engineering Technology, Electronic Engineering, Physics, or Mathematics and 1 years of RF engineering and/or testing experience or equivalent combination of education and/or military/ experience.
- Worldwide travel approximately 25% (typically 1 week per month).
- U.S. Citizen
- The ability to obtain and maintain a secret clearance.
- Excellent communications and analytical skills.
- Work Environment, Physical Demands, and Mental Demands: Lifting up to 50 pounds; climbing inclined ladders; regular handling, grasping, kneeling and carrying, and constant use of vision and mental alertness.
Preferred Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience with conducting and analyzing electronic systems testing;
- Demonstrated general knowledge and application of military standards and specifications is a plus.
- Equivalent military training and/or work experience in the RF, Radar Systems, and/or electrical engineering fields may be considered as a substitution for a degree.
- Secret clearance.
