Job Summary

This is a European Union or US National Local Hire Position in Germany. As such the employee will be subject to paying German taxes and be part of the German work force with all the benefits of Host Nation employment and social system. This position is not approved for relocation allowances.

Purpose: Performs: This position performs RTCH operations for the contract.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to fulfill each essential duty satisfactorily.

  1. Performs Preventive Maintenance Checks and Services (PMCS) on equipment and generates a DA Form 2404 (Equipment Inspection and Maintenance Worksheet) and reports any faults.
  2. RTCH operator loads and transports large materials and containers from one location to another.
  3. Assists in loading and unloading of material transported.
  4. Loads/unloads containers and equipment from rail cars under the guidance of Deutsche Bahn Load Masters.
  5. Responsible for following the proper safety procedures in order to minimize any danger to themselves or other workers and to ensure no damage to equipment being operated or moved.
  6. Must understand and use the correct hand signals to guide vehicles and equipment around the worksite.
  7. Drives equipment onto train carriages under the guidance of Deutsche Bahn Load Masters.
  8. May deploy with the Equipment Configuration Hand-off Area (ECHA) to other work sites.
  9. Reports and receives direction via radio or cellular phone.
  10. Inspects lifting equipment to ensure it is capable of completing the task.
  11. May be utilized as a crossing guard for inbound/outbound trains after training.
  12. May be required to work; shifts, weekends, mandatory overtime (with proper notice given) as required in order to meet daily/weekly workload requirements.
  13. Maintains a daily timesheet and daily manning report and ensuring times are accurate.
  14. Ensure strict compliance to safety practices and support the Amentum Safety Policies and Procedures.
  15. Instills a safety-first mentality within respective work areas and a culture that achieves low accident rates and minimal lost-time injuries.
  16. Adhere to ISO Policies, Procedures, and Work Instructions.
  17. Performs other duties are assigned.

Minimum Requirements

Minimum Position Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required.

Education: High School graduate or equivalent.

Experience: 3-5 years of related work experience driving carious types of Military vehicles or commercial equivalent.

Specialized knowledge and skills:

  • Must be able to drive and operate the equipment on site, having undertaken the appropriate familiarization training.
  • Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand English.
  • Must be able to meet and maintain all base access security requirements.
  • Must be able to meet and maintain all base access security requirements.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license or appropriate Commercial Drivers License (CDL) or host national/ European Union equivalent.

Work Environment, Physical Demands & Mental Demands:

  • Ability to perform job duties efficiently and effectively.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50lbs.
  • Must be able to work in extreme environmental conditions including dust and high temperatures.
  • Must be able to endure long hours, exposure to weather and hazardous conditions.
