Job Summary

Amentum is seeking an Electronics Technician for MARMC Code 286 to provide technical services for both ship and land-based site installations.

Job responsibilities:

  • Provide engineering and technical support, system testing, inspection, repair, replacement, and assessment assistance on Surface Sonar Systems/equipment (all mods), peripherals and interfaces. These systems will include:
    • Hull or Keel Mounted Sonars
    • Towed Arrays Systems
    • Sonobuoy Receiving Systems
    • On-Board Training Systems
    • In-Situ measurement systems such as Wet Dome Phase Test Equipment and In-Water Collection Boxes
  • Drafting Material Assessment Forms (MAF), Technical Assistance Visit Reports (TAVR) and providing INSURV reports using PRISMS program/software
  • Review, assess, maintain, and provide recommendations for revisions, updates and changes for all technical documentation relative to the systems listed above
  • Provide scheduling, coordination, and documentation (including TAAS or current system in use) of the MARMC technical assistance and assessment support process
  • Use Microsoft Office, TAAS, and other programs necessary for report filing

Minimum Requirements

  • Education: High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • General Experience: A minimum of (6) six years full time hands-on technician level general experience within the last 10 years troubleshooting, repair, logistic Support of sonar and/or equivalent systems and subsystems
  • Specialized Experience: A minimum of (3) three years of full-time, hands-on technician level specialized experience within the last 5 years troubleshooting and repair of sonar systems and subsystems which include AN/SQR-19 and MFTA Towed Array Systems, AN/SQQ-28 Sonobuoy Receiving Systems and AN/SQQ-89 On-Board Training (OBT) systems and subsystems
  • Position requires the ability to work onboard US Navy ships and access ship repair industrial facilities
  • Active secret clearance

Preferred Qualifications

  • U. S. Navy Surface SONAR Tech
