Job Summary

Amentum has an opportunity for a Maintenance Event Coordinator at its Springfield, VA location.

The selected candidate will support operations in the Conference Center, Atrium, and College spaces, Exhibit Center, Exterior Areas/Patios and Main Office Buildings in the Springfield, VA Campus. Work is performed under the direction and supervision of the Amentum Conference Center Event Manager and Government counterparts in the Amenities team performing conference room configuration duties. Duties include setup and takedown of furniture items in conference rooms and office spaces, along with Support to the Office of Protocol when required. This job position is determined to be non-hazardous.
Inventory Management duties include activities such as accountable property database management, property issue and receipt control.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Conference Center: duties include; the movement of furniture items in configurable spaces to satisfy customer room configuration preference during the various events scheduled.
  • Atrium: duties include providing support to events with setup/takedown of furniture items for the various agency supported events and Special Events scheduled in this space.
  • Agency College: duties include room configurations to support college class expectations.
  • Exhibit Center: duties include support to various organizations using the room and configuration of the space when required.
  • Exterior Areas/Patios: duties include movement of patio furniture, reconfiguration to support events, and setup/takedown of 5K Run events hosted throughout the year.
  • Main Office Building: duties include movement of furniture items to office spaces supporting office functions and celebrations.
  • Must be able to work with members of the team and independently when required, need to be a self-starter able to work on projects assigned with little or no supervision/direction on occasion.
  • Maintain and process accountable property documentation such as editing, deleting, transferring, and issuing hand receipts.
  • Conduct quarterly/annual inventories of bench stock accountability, reconcile deficiencies identified during physical inventories IAW prescribed procedures.
  • Enter received inventory into the database.
  • Reconcile deficiencies identified during physical inventories.
  • Maintain property accountability records, paper and/or electronic
  • Execute monthly reconciliations between property acquisitions/deletions and fiscal databases.
  • Provide property and inventory reporting to the PMO and/or Customer, as appropriate.
  • Perform related logistics and property duties, as directed by supervision.

Minimum Requirements

  • A minimum of two (2) years of work experience is required.
  • A minimum of two (2) years computer skills are required.
  • High school diploma or GED is required.
  • Must be US citizen.
  • Must possess and maintain an active TS/SCI clearance.
  • Specific training and thorough knowledge in the particular area of facilities, plus a broad knowledge of other disciplines such as general math, etc., is required.
  • Ability to read and write in English is required.
  • Knowledge of applicable state and federal laws and company policies and procedures is required.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs without help is required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Ability to plan, coordinate details of events to include determining specifications, determining manpower levels, recommending personnel assignments.
  • Ability to maintain professional correspondence with Event clients, answering questions during the planning process and coordinating necessary contact.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Google Applications.
  • Relevant experience or interest in a day-of-event management career
  • Experience working in the hospitality industry, exhibiting the ability to accommodate and adapt to situations by effective decision making.
