What you’ll be doing...

This opportunity is for Military personnel who are current participants of Hiring Our Heroes Corporate Fellowship Program Cohort 3-2021.

The Agile Transformation Lead role in the Verizon Consumer Group-Global Technology Solutions Planning and Technology organization is for Agile specialists who will be part of the Agile Center of Excellence responsible for the overall transformation strategy, roadmap and implementation plan to scale across the Enterprise. This will require expertise to steer the transformation and mobilize the launch by operating as an agile team. The individual will need to collaborate across multiple Lines of Business for Verizon Consumer and Business groups including Marketing, Experience, Digital, Service, Sales, etc. in addition to other GTS leaders and groups to align and scale the Transformation. This role will assume wearing multiple hats and juggling various responsibilities.

Set Agile COE Vision, and Objectives and Key Results.

  • Define the overall Transition strategy, roadmap, and the end to end process outlining the changes in roles and responsibilities.
  • Own the Agile COE Backlog and Roadmap - define and prioritize Epics for the Agile COE.

  • Define the process to govern the Operating model.

  • Organize and Standardize Collaboration Tools.

  • Optimize Agile DevOps process, including Engineering/Automation practices.

  • Define process to create, measure, and refine Objectives & Key Results (OKRs) for Products on a cadence.

  • Establish disciplined, effective agile teams which embrace and exhibit the agile mindset, by instructing the team(s) in agile principles and practices.

  • Develop collaborative working relationships with multiple levels and steering committees with a focus on agile transformation.

  • Provide strategic thought leadership and approach to overcome impediments to accelerate delivery.

  • Design chapters, and communities of practice.

  • Be a role model and coach; conduct regular 1:1s with Coaches, RTEs, PMs, POs and Product Area members

  • Oversee and plan the training for new Agile teams being stood up for all key roles (product owner, scrum master, etc.).

  • Work with the SME program leads to align Agile 2.0 SME objectives with the overall SME and Talent Transformation program.

  • Communications and Change Management.

What we’re looking for...

You’ll need to have:

  • Must be a current participant of Hiring our Heroes Corporate Fellowship Program Cohort 3-2021.
  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years work experience.

  • Six or more years of relevant work experience.

  • Experience in an Agile CoE or Transformation/Agile Based PMO within IT.

  • Experience on an Agile team (i.e. Product Owner, Scrum Master, Agile Coach).

  • Willingness to travel up to 25%.

Even better if you have:

  • A Master's degree in computer science or computer engineering.
  • Knowledge Of telecommunications trends.

  • Experience in product based agile methodologies.

  • Experience being part of an Agile CoE for large enterprises.

  • Experience leading transformation initiatives.

  • Experience with JIRA, Confluence, Clarity.

  • Experience applying Agile product based methodology concepts.

  • Strong Decision-making and leadership abilities.

  • Excellent organizational and problem solving abilities.

  • Strong verbal and written communication and storytelling skills for Senior leadership updates.

  • Excellent business knowledge and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to engage and influence at all levels.

  • Willingness to work flexible and/or extended hours and can stakeholder in various time zones after hours.

  • Agile certification (PMI-ACP/SAFe ).
