Our Project Controls team are recruiting for an experienced Senior Planner to join their team.

As the Senior Planner who will be responsible for managing the Planning team, delivering the schedule development, reporting, updating and maintenance services to Programmes and Projects. You will provide a service to a number of projects within 1 or more Programmes for the Amentum E&E (UK) business unit

Manage the delivery team:

  • In the preparation, monitoring and forecasting of schedule activities within the Work breakdown structure and project end date.
  • in the preparation, monitoring and forecasting against the baseline and working schedules during all the project phases.
  • In the establishment and maintenance of a Basis of Schedule for all schedules produced.
  • To ensure all applicable schedule activities have rules of credit and quantity tracking mechanisms established and maintained to enable trend identification and support feedback of schedule norms.
  • In the maintenance of the planning databases and validate the information across planning systems.
  • In the support to the Commercial team with approval of contractor schedules and applications for payment relating to milestones.
  • In the provision of required information to support the risk process.

Responsible for:

  • Managing the process that ensures accuracy and timeliness of data communicated and reported to all Stakeholders
  • Resolving any issues as appropriate, and if necessary, highlight/escalate through the Project Controls Management structure
  • Maintaining your own and the delivery teams’ compliance with approved procedures and Cost Engineering systems.
  • Actively contribution to continuous improvement of the functional quality and performance of Project Controls
  • Interfacing and maintain relationships with Internal Stakeholders
  • Demonstrating behaviours that allow a challenging attitude and the capacity to learn continually, encourage, motivate, develop, and support the delivery team.
  • Good management, collaboration, communication, and team working skills by holding self and others to account.
  • Managing the Planning delivery team including Work Planners and Project Planners
  • Mentoring and coach team members and wider profession
  • Delivering the preparation of baselines during all project phases.

Deliver the creation of a time-phased schedule

Education:

  • Ideally degree qualified in relevant subject or demonstrated equivalent experience.
  • Preferably hold Professional membership of a relevant chartered body.
  • Trained in an appropriate Project management qualification
  • Proven experience working in a complex programme delivery environment ideally in the nuclear sector or a similar highly regulated sector.
