Job Summary

This position is contingent upon contract award.

The Logistics Operation Manager is responsible for all facets of Material Management, with a direct line of communication to the COR. Supervises day-to-day operations to include receiving, processing and reporting the status of requisitions, backorder management, managing inventories and commodities; research and cataloging; and procuring storing material, issuing material and financial management and accounting. Additional duties include but are not limited too planning, directing, controls, coordinates and evaluates logistics management functions. Oversees the logistics requirements necessary to support operations of assigned program.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Supervise, monitors and evaluates the staff including ensuring staff is adequately trained; coordinates, priorities and schedules workloads to ensure timely and effective completion of work.
  • Oversees the transfers, adjustments, turn-ins, issues, receipts and controls of all property assigned to program.
  • Ensure compliance of all logistic services in accordance with federal standards and regulations; Statement of Work (SOW), company policies, procedures and directives.
  • Review and monitor budgets for logistics programs and departments notifying Program Manger of expenditures and limits.
  • Assists in the development and maintenance of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for the overall effective logistics program to support the initiatives and directives of the customer.
  • Examine the efficiency and effectiveness of departmental procedures and recommend new initiatives and methodology in the logistics area based on requirements and priorities.
  • Enters data into multiple databases, conducts extensive searches for information pertaining to complex and/or unusual supply transactions and patterns, assists hand receipt holders in preparing lost/damaged statements for lost, destroyed or damaged property and discusses problems with hand receipt holders for clarification and settlements of discrepancies. Updates databases, retrieves data and uses data to respond to a variety of customers.
  • Drafts local policies, procedures, plans and guidance for supply and services operations.
  • Implements and adjusts procedures for receipt, storage, issue and document control of accountable supplies and equipment.
  • Directs personnel in making decisions and recognizing problems relating to such determinations and needs for property review, detection of discrepancy caused, and adjustments, etc.
  • Provides technical guidance and training to inventory control specialists. Monitors and reviews work performed.
  • Investigates and reconciles discrepancies and reports those that could not be resolved to the logistics manager.
  • Executes and establishes functions, including development or modification of local procedures in accordance with established guidelines.
  • Responsible for training, planning, assigning and directing work, appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining employees, addressing complaints and resolving problems of direct reports.
  • Perform all other position related duties as assigned or requested.

Minimum Requirements

  • Must be a U.S citizen.
  • Must possess a Top Secret (TS) clearance with SCI eligibility and a polygraph.
  • Certified in material handling equipment operation.
  • Requires 10 years of experience working on government contracts in material management and warehouse operations.
