Job Summary

Amentum is seeking an IT Project Manager in Springfield, VA.

You have excellent communication, time management, and detail-oriented skills, which you’ll put to use overseeing and managing multiple projects for nearly 250 sites worldwide. You will connect with our customers and team members domestically and overseas via email or Microsoft Teams to coordinate meetings and schedule installs, share shipping and project status updates, and provide install guides and templates. Your excellent customer service and communication skills will come in handy when briefing the customer and stakeholders on the status of the projects you manage. Additionally, your attention to detail and time management skills will be vital for ensuring project timelines are met and on track.

You will provide project management oversight for deployment and install projects. You'll also oversee projects through closeout for planning, forecasting, and implementing of network/software systems. You'll analyze, schedule, organize, and coordinate multiple IT projects and initiatives using appropriate project management and scheduling methodologies. You will also perform project management activities as needed to plan, design, and coordinate complex projects, and to ensure effective implementation and communication of such projects with management, employees, and external customers as appropriate.

Responsibilities:

  • Focuses on the scheduling, support, coordination, communication, and oversight of the equipment integration and shipments
  • Organizes large amounts of data/activities; presents status in a clear, concise, accurate, and consistent manner
  • Manages the Travel Tracker information and overall project site and data within the Deployment Management System
  • Deploy work to installation teams via a scheduling system. Plan, develop, coordinate, and direct project assignments
  • Monitor input, activities, relationships, and resources into scheduling package to support a resource loaded schedule
  • Responsible for project reporting to include generating monthly performance measurement reports, preparing project data for project meetings, and ensuring timely collection and interpretation of schedule data within the project database
  • Manages and coordinates activities of project teams for integration, deployment, and installation; identifies appropriate resources needed to ensure successful completion of project. Leads the design, development, and maintenance of the project plan, schedule, budget and status reports for assigned project.
  • Arranges travel for the program installation team members
  • Coordinates the planning and scheduling responsibility for several projects simultaneously.
  • Performs scope review, Work Breakdown Structure (WBS), activities definition and duration, work programs development, resource breakdowns, staffing plan development, scheduling, forecasts, and status reports. As a member of the GITM Vanguard Governance Team, coordinates across multi-programs and contractors to develop and integrate personnel, procurement, and deployment schedules to optimize schedule and resources.
  • Perform project management duties in support of process changes and advanced technology designed to improve efficiencies across the organization. Ensure resources are efficiently allocated as required to support IT projects; ensuring consistent, efficient project implementation, maintenance and completion.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in an associated discipline and at least 7 years of experience in production planning and scheduling
    • Or an Associates degree, and at least 11 years of experience in production planning and scheduling
    • Or a High school diploma/GED, and at least 15 years of experience in production planning and scheduling
  • Due to the nature of the work, must be a U.S. citizen
  • Must have an active Secret Clearance with the ability to obtain a Top Secret clearance after your start date
