Do it here.What youll be doing...This opportunity is for Military personnel who are current participants of Hiring Our Heroes Corporate Fellowship Program Cohort 2-2021.The warehouse Program & Project Management Consultant will work side by side with an on-site Verizon operations team, third party logistics (3PL) provider, and cross-functionally with Inventory Planning, Field Inventory, and IT to ensure efficient operations that comply with established standards. Daily focus will be on auditing performance and initiating process improvements that reduce operating expense and/or increase service levels for field network engineers. They will partner with a project manager to ensure effective local implementation of national initiatives.Responsibilities include:+ Provide leadership to ensure efficient distribution operations and adherence to policies, procedures, and process excellence+ Lead conception, scope definition, and execution of various types of strategic and operational warehouse initiatives, ranging from large scale capital projects to everyday process improvements+ Lead projects within a 500K+ square foot distribution center that increase service level and/or decrease costs+ Develop and refine process standardization documents+ Support the operations team in holding the 3PL accountable to performance expectations+ Contribute to business cases for proposed improvement projects+ Present projects to leadership+ Ensure the accuracy of inventory by monitoring adherence to all inventory control processes and procedures+ Act as a subject matter expert regarding distribution center operationsWhat were looking for...Must be a current participant of Hiring our Heroes Corporate Fellowship Program Cohort 2-2021.Youll need to have:+ Bachelors degree or four or more years of work experience+ Three or more years of relevant work experience+ Experience in large scale operations and distribution+ Project Management experience+ Experience using Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio+ Willingness to work a flexible schedule+ Willingness to travel up to 25%+ Strong organization and attention to detailEven better if you have:+ Bachelors degree in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, or related discipline+ Experience in a high-volume distribution center of 500K+ square feet+ A strong history of driving a culture of continuous improvement+ Experience managing a 3rd Party Logistics Provider+ Experience with WMS+ Supplier management experience+ Import/ Export experience in supply chain function+ Exposure to Lean, Six Sigma, or other process improvement methodologies+ PMP certification+ Proficiency in SAPEqual Employment OpportunityWe're proud to be an equal opportunity employer - and celebrate our employees' differences, including race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, age, disability, and Veteran status.
