PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:

The hospitality attendant is the primary point of contact with guests for Canadian Pacific Corporate Hospitality on the Royal Canadian Pacific or at RCP facilitated events including executive events. The position is multi-functional across a broad spectrum of service responsibilities, including but not limited to preparation of materials, housekeeping, food and beverage service, baggage handling, Lodge 1881, Ogden Station and overall guest comfort.

POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Create a first class impression, memorable service experiences for all CP guests for moving train, stationary, CPR Pavilion, Lodging, Staff Cafeteria and off-site catering events
  • Support a safe working environment by working in compliance with Occupational Health and Safety Act, Home safe, WHMIS and Federal Health Regulations
  • Housekeeping. Cleaning of bedrooms, washrooms, dining room, service areas, common areas and external platforms. Tasks include but are not limited to polishing interior wood panels, vacuuming, dusting, cleaning windows, washing dishes, minor repairs, making beds, cleaning silver, laundry services and stocking supplies.
  • Food and Beverage Service. Serve refreshments, meals and beverage items to guests following established service guidelines and practices. Service styles may include but are not limited to classic table, family, passed, buffet and stations. Specific focus on ability to serve safely aboard heritage business cars while moving.
  • Guest Services. Respond to the multiple demands and needs of all passengers/guests resulting in a first class service impression and represent Canadian Pacific as an Ambassador in service that exceeds expectations.Greet guests, take tickets, perform train check-in duties, accompany guests to the train and assist in boarding/detraining, train tours, respond to questions. Have knowledge in Beverage service including wines, alcohol and cocktails.
  • Administer presentation on CP history for both on train and off train information to our clients.
  • Demonstrate a high ability to be result and detail oriented in there work ethics.
  • Baggage handling. Manage guest luggage transfers safely with accuracy and efficiency
  • Maintain a record of CP executive and CP executive guest’s special requirements and preferences and ensure that these are properly accommodated in all activities. Engage that knowledge to facilitate an exceptional experience.
  • Mentorship and training of seasonal heritage services hospitality attendants including development of training materials
  • Liaise with third party activity and material suppliers.
  • RCP Administrative support for reservations and event planning.
  • Additional duties as assigned by the Manager, Hospitality Services and/or Sr. Manager Corporate Hospitality

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  • ProServe and Food Safety certification
  • Standard first aid, Level C CPR
  • Working knowledge of hot and cold food service styles.
  • Knowledge of beverage presentation and preparation
  • Ability to execute first class food and beverage services
  • Able to maintain accurate records and checklists
  • A passion for service
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a demonstrated high level of
  • respect, discretion and confidentiality
  • Ability to work appropriately with all levels of public, corporate executive, CP Board members and/or well-known/celebrity guests
