The Leidos Defense and Intelligence Group has a career opportunity for multiple Usability/Human Factors Engineers at either our customer or contractor site in Annapolis Junction, MD.
Program Summary
This contract is a large, multi-year contract for the development, integration, deployment and sustainment of large, collection systems. The work that's being done on this Leidos-led, prime contract is extremely important to the government and offers its team members the opportunity to work autonomously and explore new technologies. Position Summary
The Usability/Human Factors Engineer uses a holistic, multidisciplinary approach for the design of user interfaces for digital products, defining their form behavior, and content. The Engineer must integrate interactions design, industrial design, information architecture, information design, visual interface design, user assistance design, and user-center design, thus ensuring coherence and consistency across all design dimensions.
Capabilities
Conduct usability testing and work closely with product designers and process engineers developing applications.
Design and develop user surveys to obtain end-user feedback.
During the usability and software engineering cycle phases (analysis, design, implementation, and deployment), work closely with users (analysts) to research and document user profiles, analysis tasks, workflows, and user scenarios; in order to create user interface design from specifications provided.
Responsible for performance and technical management of usability engineering teams
Lead user/human-centered design for software applications and web sites including contextual inquiry, critical task analysis, information architecture, interaction design, usability testing, and application of human-computer interaction (HCI) research
Required Experience
Active TS SCI w/Poly
Twelve (12) years' experience in Usability and Human Factors Engineering.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related discipline from an accredited college or university is required.
Four (4) years of additional SWE experience on projects with similar software processes may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree.
