About the team:

The M&A Finance team works closely with the Finance & Administration organization and other firm Businesses and Enabling Areas throughout the lifecycle of an M&A transaction.

Primary Duties:

The M&A Finance Analyst will be responsible for supporting the M&A Senior Consultants, Managers and Senior Managers in all areas of an acquisition lifecycle to drive analysis and strategic decisions, gain consensus among stakeholders and prepare clear, concise and compelling presentations for leadership. The acquisition lifecycle includes initial financial due diligence, business case modeling and review, understanding the target's accounting processes, integration planning and execution and post-acquisition support and review. The Analyst will also support the team in financial analysis, excel modeling, report creation and standardization, identifying impacts of decisions and activities that affect the broader support organization and other ad-hoc requests

  • Support M&A Finance Senior Consultants, Managers and Senior Managers in diligence by pulling data provided by targets, cleansing and consolidating data into usable formats and analyzing data. Support identification of potential integration considerations.
  • Engage and collaborate with Corporate Development and Business Sponsors; support planning and execution of workshops with targets to facilitate diligence and integration.
  • Conduct detailed business case reviews to assess impact from a financial and operational standpoint. Prepare presentations with key findings and recommendations for leadership
  • Create work plans to migrate target into Deloitte and hold self and others accountable to make sure project is on track and milestones achieved
  • Support Finance integration and divestiture planning, including gaining a deep understanding of the targeted/divested business and accounting processes to evaluate the integration risks and challenges
  • Support integration of acquired companies, including developing recommendations to complex integration challenges
  • Engage and collaborate with various stakeholders to develop recommendations and resolve issues
  • Prepare internal reports and presentations for senior leadership on acquisition performance and financial trends, including acquisition return on investment (ROI)
  • Support international ventures with Deloitte global firms in diligence, integration and post-deal support including investment tracking, reporting, forecasting, planning and resolving issues
  • Support M&A Finance in various special projects, including process automation using advanced excel, analyzing and synthesizing large data sets and creating various PowerPoint presentations

Qualifications

Required:
  • Bachelor's degree in progress in these areas of study: business, economics, math, analytics, finance, accounting or a related field
  • 1-2 years post-undergraduate experience in a relevant accounting, finance, consulting, M&A or professional services role
  • Understanding of financial statements and accounting principles
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Possess the strong interpersonal skills necessary to communicate with all levels of the organization regarding sensitive information.
  • Ability to work with virtual teams and across geographic and cultural boundaries
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Advanced expertise in Microsoft Excel
  • Excellent project management skills
  • Possess the ability to prioritize competing tasks and handle unique situations and be comfortable working on a variety of projects and deliverables simultaneously.
  • Some travel (about 15 - 25%) may be required in the future. A US-based office location is required
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future
  • The start date for this position will be in 2022

Preferred:
  • Strong PowerPoint capabilities to create compelling presentations preferred
  • Strong academic track record (3.5 GPA or higher)
