What you will do-

As an Associate R&D Manager, you will lead the development of a team of Mechanical, Software, and Electrical Engineers to develop Low Temperature Sterilization equipment in our Sterile Processing Department portfolio. This role will be a key leader in our Low Temperature Sterilization team, collaboratively researching and developing new products with our Customers.

Primary Roles/Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate the activities of R&D team to meet agreed department/project deliverables for active development projects
  • Partner with Marketing, R&D Leadership, and Customers to build out roadmaps and own & execute research projects according to the roadmap
  • Build relationships with stakeholders, key partners, and cross-divisional R&D leaders to implement road map and deliver on current projects
  • Evaluates the performance of the team based on pre-established performance parameters
  • Interview, hire, train, develop and engage top talent while ensuring a pipeline of talent is established for future roles

What you will need-

Minimum Qualifications (Required):

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related field
  • 6+ years of relevant experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience leading R&D/Engineering teams to develop electromechanical devices and/or managing resource allocation for development plans
  • Experience with budgeting and/or project financial justifications
  • Knowledge of empathic design & interviewing research techniques
  • 4+ years of experience in the medical device or related industry strongly preferred

** You will need to live within commuting distance to our Portage, MI office. You will need to be in the office a few days a week but will have the ongoing flexibility to work from home on the other days. **
