Dallas Deputy Commercial Insurance Manager:

This individual will lead a team of up to 14 Underwriters inclusive of a Team Leader in our dynamic Dallas branch. They will work directly with the Commercial Insurance manager to share responsibility for profitable growth across the Dallas P&C portfolio, while leading Middle Market, Financial Institutions, Umbrella and Specialty Casualty. Will be charged with financial information analysis and reporting, employee development and training, agency and producer relationship development, and achieving financial goals with direct oversight of an $84,000,000 book of business. In addition, responsibility will include engagement in the Dallas Marketplace across all Customer Groups and industry practices in support of the Dallas CI Manager and the teams handling the business.


Other job responsibilities and functions include:

  • Executing underwriting initiatives in conjunction with the Industry Practice strategies
  • Leading the team towards meeting and exceeding financial plans.
  • Managing the assigned book of business, monitoring results for trends and setting growth and profit strategies in conjunction with the industry practice leadership.
  • Acting as a key contact to build, maintain and manage customer/producer relationships including regular agency visits based on business need.
  • Drive the team to increase their individual quote ratios monitoring the monthly progress
  • Increase the number of Enterprise Accounts generated by team members and help them prepare for the calls participating with them
  • Assist with agency planning and goal setting including monitoring of progress.
  • Managing the prospect pipeline including Identifying cross sell opportunities.
  • Meeting with renewal customers as part of a Chubb team to make sales presentations and negotiate coverage, price, and service deliveries
  • Working in a team environment with Underwriters, Loss Control, Claims and Operations.
  • Meeting service standards of a customer focused strategy.
  • Collecting and sharing competitor data with the team.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Working knowledge of commercial underwriting and insurance industry theories and practices.
  • Demonstrated technical expertise and product specific knowledge in the Manufacturing, Professional Services and Other Services Industry practice.
  • Proven and successful, sales skills.
  • Prior people management experience a plus
  • Strong interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to effectively interact with all levels of internal and external business partners.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite as well as other business-related software.
