What you’ll be doing...

This position will evaluate and ensure compliance with Vendor products including ForgeRock Open Access Manager, Open Identity Gateway and OpenDJ as well as various open source technologies. This position will ensure the Organization’s Identity Access Management, Fraud Detection and Adaptive Authentication platforms providing solutions for Digital and assisted channels supporting all VCG / VBG external customers including Vendors have clean software, open source and infrastructure scans providing and implementing solutions to maintain compliance.

Verizon has a significant focus on stability, customer friction and satisfaction and overall performance of applications including page load times. This position will also be responsible for bringing the organization applications into Verizon’s current Digital application SRE standards and design and implement solutions ensuring the E2E customer experience is integrated with various tool sets including Medallia Customer Feedback ensuring DIS scores remaining within Verizon’s defined acceptance criteria, Content Square and SpeedCure/Lighthouse and will be responsible for continuing to use tools to reduce customer friction and minimize page load times with a consistent measure.

The architecture and solutions delivered by this position need to provide a consistent customer experience across all authentication entry points, while implementing advanced measurements and dashboards including alarms, transaction and operations dashboards as well as business metrics and executive KPIs using ElasticSearch, LogStash, Splunk and Grafana. Proper dash boarding and alarming is critical to the success of the platform and all architecture and software changes must include implementing new or enhancing existing reporting capabilities including alignment with GTS and Business executives.

  • Leading Identity and Fraud application development ensuring architecture, design and software compliance with Industry and Verizon security standards including SAST Fortify code scans, OSS BlackDuck open source scans, RASP realtime protection, Infrastructure IP, Port and Tenable agent scans, and other application security compliance.
  • Leading analysis of industry security threats including OWASP top-10 vulnerabilities and defining architecture and design solutions and implement software changes strengthening Identity and Fraud applications security posture.
  • Leading Identity and Fraud application architecture and development standardization of application logs using Splunk and ElasticSearch including helping to define standards and track implementation across application teams.
  • Leading Identity and Fraud application development operations standardization defying and implementing identity and fraud monitoring and alerting solutions including standard application and executive dashboards using Kibana and Grafana adhering to Verizon GTS NorthStar standards.
  • Partnering with GTS TechOps and Digital DOC organizations leading Identity and Fraud application development Digital Amplification including standardizing monitoring, AYS intake support and providing executive reporting on Identity and Fraud application stability including root-cause analysis for customer and agent authentication experience issues.
  • Implementing dashboards and operations standards for Identity and Fraud operations support partnering with Digital Operations and other Application development teams supporting Customer and Agent reported issues via AYS ticket workstream, JIRA customer defect dashboards, single user issue emails, and production operation command bridges.
  • Partnering with Digital Business and Operations, Security, Risk and Fraud organizations on identity and fraud detection operations, aligning with organizations of current vectors of attempted account takeovers, BOT and other suspected traffic, deploy new rule engines and machine learning models, and work with GTS application development teams to enhance solutions protecting Verizon customers.
  • Aligning with Business, Security and Fraud organizations on rules, KPIs and executive reporting.
  • Providing senior leadership executive reporting on program status and results.
  • Providing centralized identity and fraud detection architecture and development including standardizing the organization’s DevSecOps adhering to Verizon’s Legacy and Security policies, and aligning Digital Amplification including application and executive dashboards with Verizon’s SRE standards.

What we’re looking for...

The Digital organization is seeking self-starter, passionate, dynamic, highly motivated Senior Customer Identity Access Management (CIAM) technology lead.This position requires being aware of and evaluating industry application security and identity trends and Verizon’s SDLC life cycle aligning and standardizing across the organization VCG/VBG applications ensuring software and architecture maintain compliance including partnering with GTS TechOps and DBA organization for infrastructure compliance.

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Six or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Application development experience using Java, SpringBoot, Scala, Python Kafka, Akka technologies.
  • Experience in application development logging and operations support, triaging customer complaints, system and API errors using Oracle, Splunk and ElasticSearch.

Even better if you have one or more of the following:

  • Bachelor's Degree in computer science.
  • Knowledge of AWS Kubernetes, Docker images, and EKS.
  • Experienced with Big Data technologies like HDFS, NIFI, PIG, Spark SQL, Hive, Impala, Sqoop, Spark and Ooze and data pipelining techniques for moving and analyzing Terabytes of data in minutes.
  • Experience with Distributed Data platforms such as HDFS and Elastic search.
  • Experience with reporting systems like Grafana, Splunk UI, Kibana.
  • Knowledge of secure coding with OWASP coding practices, Fortify and Blackduck or equivalent security scanning software.
  • Experience with CI/CD process - GIT (Bitbucket), Jenkins, Jira, Confluence.
  • Strong oral & written communication skills; can present findings concisely and effectively to critical audiences.
  • Experience with Google drive suite services (Google Docs, Google Sheets, etc).
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with experience with executive communications.
  • Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong leadership skills and the ability to work and interact with multiple levels of management.
  • Ability to work independently but with ability to communicate status and achieve results with minimal direction, Ability to translate large complex requirements to understandable deliverables and project plans.
  • Proactive self-starter with a strong sense of urgency, but able to navigate a changing environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and willingness to roll up one’s sleeves to get the job done
  • Flexibility - responsibilities may require occasional evening and weekend work.
  • Experience in designing and implementing the best architecture for GCP, BigData, and Enterprise Data Warehouse.
  • Experience in all data warehousing concepts, ETL concepts, ETL loading strategy, Data archiving, Data reconciliation, Error handling, and Error logging mechanism.
  • Experience in articulating the business drives and architectural approaches to deliver best in class dashboards using Grafana, ElasticSearch, LogStash and NiFi tools.
