LEIDOS, is currently seeking a SAP Security Specialist to support a program in Northern, VA. The SAP Security Support Specialist will assist the government security team with the Division's SAP security program to include administration, monitoring, and management of metrics for the Program Access Request (PAR) process; maintain access databases; and all required personnel security documentation including access rosters and security files. Works independently and closely with senior specialists or task leads. Must obtain DoD Security Professional Education Development (SPeD) Certification IAW DoD Manual # 3305.13M within one (1) year of service start date.
Primary Responsibilities:
Develop, coordinate, maintain, and update SAP Security Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) that are reflective of the current operating environment and encompass PAR processing in the Joint Access Database Environment (JADE). Ensure the SAP Security SOP Manual is detailed enough for new employees and is in accordance with all United States Government (USG), Department of Defense (DoD). and NGA policies, directives, and instructions.
Provide hands-on training for SAP security processes for all new contractor employees and specific government employees approved by the SAP cognizant authority
Review all incoming PAR packages and ensure all required information is current, forms are completed with required signatures.
Generate PAR packages for personnel under the customer office's cognizance to include submitting Special Access Program (SAP) requests, collecting Personnel Security Questionnaire (PSQ) and supporting template documents.
Respond to candidate questions regarding forms content, request missing information from candidates, generate electronic PARs (ePARs), draft letters of compelling need (LOCN) for government signature, and route PARs for review and approval. Make initial eligibility determinations using the Joint Personnel Adjudication System (JPAS) and/or Scattered Castles and PSQ in accordance with applicable policies.
Maintain all personnel security records and ensure records are current and in accordance with applicable personnel security requirements. Request PSQ updates annually for all personnel supporting special access programs. Prepare Program Indoctrination Agreements (PIA); Generate debrief PIAs, execute debriefs on behalf of the government security team. Perform accurate and timely updates of personnel briefings and debriefing records in JADE.
Conduct personnel security reviews in JADE database, and prepare corrective action plans for government customer as required.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelors Degree and a minimum of 7 years of relevant experience or equivalent years of relevant experience in lieu of degree
Minimum of 2 years of experience with the DoD/IC
Current Department of Defense Top Secret / Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) Clearance
Previous demonstrated significant experience conducting tasks for DoD SAPs or other U.S. government-equivalent compartmented access programs is required
Greater than 7 years' work experience
Bachelor's degree and/or military experience preferred; however, combinations of experience and education will be considered.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite
Maintain a professional appearance suitable for greeting senior DoD and Intelligence Community visitors
Customer support skills, verbal and written communication skills.
Must obtain DoD Security Professional Education Development (SPeD) Certification IAW DoD Manual # 3305.13M within one (1) year of service start date
