Information Systems Security Engineer
Job Summary
Amentum is seeking an Information Systems Security Engineer to bridge the gap between high level security policies/requirements and technical/operational implementation of those requirements. This includes the installation of security software and patches, security testing of data processing systems, and updating computer anti-virus protection systems. Review system logs and apply continuous monitoring requirements for submittal as per the RMF process. Update all master system hardware/software lists to maintain accurate domain records.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
- Participate in network design reviews and security testing for the customer’s networks
- Evaluate Information Assurance compliance of a system against current RMF and expertise DoDCybersecurity policies as outlined in NIST SP 800-37 and 800-53, rev 4
- Identify and solve technical issues relating to system hardening ensuring system availability, integrity, authentication and confidentiality
- Implement and maintain updates, security patching, and controls
- Perform assessment and compliance activities by using the assessment tools and procedures within the ServiceNow IA Manager to manage security compliance and risk, upload artifacts, and track projects as they flow through the RMF process
- Interface with the Information System Owner (ISO), site Information System Security Officer (ISSO), and other applicable parties (to include SCA and DAO-R) while completing security controls implementation, self-compliance tests, security test plans, and creating/updating the Plan of Actions and Milestones (POA&M)
Minimum Requirements
- US Citizen and possess a TS SCI with poly
- CISSP or equivalent
- 3-5 years minimum related experience
Preferred Qualifications
- MCSE or equivalent
- Linux
- B.S. Cybersecurity or related field
