Responsibilities

James T. Shott & Associates, insurance staff counsel for State Farm Insurance companies, seeks a California licensed trial attorney with 3-15 years of civil litigation experience to join their growing team. Competitive candidates will demonstrate an exceptional knowledge of civil procedure along with evidence and trial procedures and possess jury trial experience. The selected candidate will possess outstanding research abilities, written and oral advocacy skills, be well organized, detail oriented, and can independently manage a busy time sensitive actively litigated caseload.

Located in Costa Mesa, CA, we enjoy an active and busy civil trial practice in Orange and Los Angeles counties. We provide a congenial, team-oriented, and professional work environment with skilled support staff.

Qualifications

  • Must have a law degree from an A.B.A. accredited law school and excellent academic credentials
  • Must have an active law license to practice in California and a member in good standing with the State Bar of California
  • 3-15 years of experience preferably in civil litigation
  • Prior trial and courtroom experience preferred
  • Strong automation/technological skills including competency in Word and Outlook
