The Director, Global Legal Operations, Reporting and Data Analytics, will be an experienced and sophisticated professional and manager capable of coordinating with large teams and coordinating resources across a complex and matrixed global organization.

This individual will be responsible for providing global support on a wide variety of matters, including, but not limited to, the following:

  • Oversee the Legal Operations team to provide tools and technology support to legal and compliance departments around the world, including vendor management; oversee legal matter management and legal request tools, including technical support and management reporting. Experience with Onit, Tableau, Qlikview and other analytics and technology tools a strong plus.
  • Develop and maintain a program using internal legal and compliance operational data to improve efficiency and effectiveness of global legal and compliance organization, including associated business management reporting.
  • Support the establishment and communication of the strategic vision for legal and compliance informed by data and experience.
  • Develop ad hoc and regular reporting packages and presentations as required by legal and business management to represent all of the above, including insights into how data can be used to help support the strategic vision of the legal and compliance teams.
  • Provide project management leadership and discipline with focus on delivery of all projects and deliverables on-time and on-budget; maintain comprehensive global index of all ongoing projects for reporting to management.
  • Additional support and responsibilities determined as this initiative and role develops

This individual will need strong financial, analytical, inter-personal and influence management skills; but more importantly, will need to be flexible and adaptable to evolving organizational demands.

Minimum Requirements:

  • 10+ years of insurance / technology industry experience, primarily in the areas of legal operations and management reporting.
  • Proven ability to effectively manage the following: both upward and downward communication through the organization, a diverse staff of employees, and to successfully influence outcomes.
  • Very strong analytical, financial and technical skills in using data analytics to understand trends and/or root causes.
  • Strong technical skills and knowledge of MS Project, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, SharePoint; Visio and other project management reporting tools; and legal/compliance research tools.
  • 10+ years proven experience with data analytics, reporting and metrics; strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Builds strong relationships within legal and compliance organizations, project teams and vendors.
  • Strong organizational, multitasking and prioritization skills; ability to manage multiple projects in a dynamic fast paced environment.
  • 10+ years overall operations management and process re-engineering experience.
  • P&C Insurance/Reinsurance experience a plus; Legal and Compliance organization experience preferred.
  • Strong financial background required; budgeting and payment processing desired.
  • Excellent ability to drive results; strong presentation skills; strong attention to details.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and proven ability to work effectively with teams.
