Work you'll do:

As a Manager in Legal Business Services, you will work on corporate legal department engagements for large and complex organizations. You will be working with both U.S. and Global teams and will contribute directly to delivering first class service to our clients. You will be client facing, working with Deloitte Partners, Staff and Associates, on Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM) projects and engagements. You will support the engagement lifecycle from opportunity pursuit through service delivery and identification of expansion opportunities to continue to deliver benefits to our clients. Your support of the engagement lifecycle will include solution design, talent management, and service delivery. As a part of the Practice you will proactively identify, pursue and execute on continuous service improvements through technology and process improvements. You will have a desire to consistently strive for excellence, taking pride in carrying out responsibilities efficiently and with impeccable execution. You should be a self- starter who works well within a team, is energized by a continuous learning environment, and possesses an ability to work well with deadlines.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Deliver contract engagements for corporate legal department clients " assisting with engagement playbooks, delivery team training, leading, and quality controlling the work product of teams supporting business as usual contract creation, contract negotiation support, contract archiving, and obligations management
  • Leading delivery of project-based engagements involving contract review, abstraction, analysis, and remediation services in response to regulatory and other triggering events
  • Identify process and operational efficiencies within the legal department contracting function
  • Deliver contract consulting engagements for corporate legal department clients-including contract functional operating model design and benchmarking; CLM technology platform identification, selection and implementation; and CLM process re-engineering
  • Help develop eminence and thought leadership materials in the field of Contract Lifecycle Management and, more broadly, legal innovation
  • Monitor the performance of CLM engagement delivery teams
  • Institute KPI's and metrics to govern, measure, track client engagements and report against them
  • Assist with proposals

Qualifications

Required:

  • Juris Doctorate (or equivalent)/MBA
  • 5+ years of experience of relevant legal experience, alternative legal service industry, or legal operations
  • Strong substantive understanding of the area of commercial contract law (i.e. key contract clauses/issues such as indemnification, limitation of liability, warranties, etc.)
  • Strong Microsoft Office and other technology skills (Excel, PPT, Visio, Power BI, Tableau)
  • Travel up to 25% (While 25% of travel is a requirement of the job, due to COVID-19, all non-essential travel has been suspended)
  • Limited immigration sponsorship may be available
  • At least one of the following accreditations:
    • Licensed CPA in state of practice/primary office
    • Licensed Attorney (or their foreign equivalents)
    • Individuals without the academic credentials to qualify for CPA certification require an advanced degree in the Legal profession or a relevant industry certification

Preferred:

  • Aptitude and commitment to continue to learn various IT platforms and additional software skills
  • High level of familiarity with legal technology and its application in the contract lifecycle management field and familiarity or working knowledge of one or more leading CLM technology platforms
  • Lean Six-Sigma/Project Management Professional certification
  • Excellent interpersonal and people management skills
  • Exceptional communication (to both internal and external stakeholders) and collaboration skills
  • Superior client presentation skills
  • High level of attention to detail, superb organization skills and well-developed critical thinking skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong analytical and reporting skills
