What you’ll be doing...

Program Manager Innovation - the product innovation team is a fast moving team with a broad set of responsibilities that impact both internal and external stakeholders. The bread and butter work of the team involves a continual balance of surfacing new technologies and partners that can help Verizon achieve its goals, gaining alignment between those technologies and partners and the priorities of the business units we serve while having an entrepreneur’s mindset of challenging the status quo and finding ways to effectively navigate a very large and complex organization to get things done with a sense of urgency.

In this role you will be responsible for the following:

• Identifying and evolving new product opportunities for the product organization
• Responsible for innovating, and managing the development of early stage enterprise product and service concepts across a very broad number of fields including but not limited to Industrial, Manufacturing, Retail, Healthcare, Sports and Gaming. Identifying current market pain points, and how Verizon technology can help solve problems and create opportunities with a significant focus on products and solutions that can uniquely benefit from 5G and Mobile Edge Computing.
• Work closely with the internal commercial product owners, customer facing solutions architects as well as strategy and other executive leadership teams to qualify the new solutions and technologies to assess feasibility of implementation for Verizon. - You should have a love for technology and a good understanding of trends and players in the market. You should already have or quickly gain a thorough understanding of the Verizon business, and be able to quickly establish a POV in regard to Verizon and applicability of a solution and technology.
• Program and project management - VBG is a large and complex business with many stakeholders and priorities, not to mention a variety of systems used by different teams. The group needs someone that can not only help track projects and keep them on track, but to helpthe work being done, sync and align with other teams, and tell the story behind the work to help get visibility and traction for the team and its projects.
• You’ll be working extensively with a broad mix of stakeholders including outside partners and ISVs, our internal business unit partners, as well as a mix of internal cross-functional teams such as network engineering, pre sales engineering, product marketing, finance, legal, strategy as well as sr executives in an agile environment to help things run smoothly and help team members overcome obstacles to progress.
• You should be a spokesperson and champion for your own ideas as well as those of the team…to help ideas and knowledge break through the noise and get the attention they deserve within the organization.
• You should have strong customer first mentality and want to drive projects through a significant amount of internal ambiguity and unclear bounds of ownership to get things accomplished with the customer benefit in mind.

*This role can sit out of any valid U.S. based Verizon work location.*

This hybrid role will have a defined work location that includes work from home and assigned office days as set by the manager.

What we’re looking for...

You will need to have:

• Bachelor’s degreeor four ormore years of experience.
• Six or more years of relevant work experience.
• Willingness to travel up to approximately 25% of the time.

Even better if you have one or more of the following:

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or computer science.
• Master’s degree in Technology field or an MBA.
• Experience working at a startup either as a founder or product development leader.
• Product management and development experience in defining, developing and launching enterprise products.
• Leadership amongst a high performing team of specialists experience.
• Deep experience w technologies in one or more of the targeted fields including wireless telecom, AI, IoT, computer vision, cloud services, networking.
• Experience in developing product strategy/use cases.
• Experience in identifying new/existing customer/business requirements/use cases; working with partners for rapid prototyping.
• Ability to effectively prioritize and vet products and value with internal and external Verizon partners.
• Ability to develop, deliver clear, complete and concise product concepts.
• Proven track record of having a drive for high-quality work, ability to make and keep demanding commitments
