Sr Manager, Continuous Innovation & Project Management

Position Summary

  • This position is focused on supporting the North American Capability Center (NACC) Continuous Innovation (CI) program and leading projects within NACC Operations.

This position is responsible for:

  • Contributing to the development and execution of the CI program
  • Leading assigned CI training classes
  • Contributing to the development of content for CI training classes
  • Maintaining and improving CI class and problems solving sites
  • Continuing personal CI development through LSS Black Belt Certification
  • Creating and maintaining reports / dashboards that measure the impact of CI activities
  • Using established tools and technology to drive efficiencies in CI programs
  • Leading projects within NACC Operations
  • Providing support to the NACC Operations Team as needed
  • Identified CI Champions and Ambassadors and other related committees
  • NACC Communications and Engagement team, NACC based functional people managers, CI trainees and their managers from any BMS site, assigned functional leadership from sites supported by CI team
  • Execute CI activities and lead training classes in the NACC, virtual, and other BMS locations
  • Lead projects within NACC Operations
  • Support NACC Operations team as needed

Continuous Innovation

  • Contribute to the overall CI strategy for the NACC and other assigned BMS sites and groups
  • Execute assigned CI projects and tasks
  • Lead assigned CI training classes, including tracking and documenting class participation
  • Contribute to the development and improvement of CI training classes content and logistics
  • Liaison with BMS learning team to assure CI training classes are setup and tracked within SuccessFactors
  • Maintain and continually improve CI support sites and systems
  • Continually grow personal CI skills through LSS Black Belt certification, and additional training
  • Coach those that have attended CI training classes
  • Develop and continually improve and deploy CI tools

Project Management

  • Lead projects in NACC Operations following project management methodology
  • Assure that all projects are documented and tracked
  • Assure all projects are recorded in the appropriate system
  • Teach project management classes / training sessions as needed
  • Create and follow PM templates and standardized tools

Desired Experience

  • 5 to 7 years experience with exposure to areas such as finance, technology implementations, process design and other business / finance / technology-related functional expertise.
  • Minimum of LSS Green Belt trained, certification preferred
  • At minimum one implemented LSS Green Belt project
  • Knowledge and demonstrated use of Minitab for data analysis
  • Project management experience, including developing and executing plans, procedures and Playbooks
  • Experience with SharePoint and various survey tools
  • Demonstrated ability to lead project teams
  • Demonstrated analytical and organizing skills, including evidence of an ability to think independently, manage ambiguity and handle “gray areas” in a business context
  • Demonstrated ability to develop positive relationships with all levels of an organization
  • Demonstrated ability to simultaneously manage deadlines for a number of varied projects and priorities
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate ideas and influence others to accomplish activities
  • Proven track record of independent decision-making skills
  • Biopharmaceutical industry experience is desirable

Minimum Requirement / Knowledge Desired:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or 10 + years’ equivalent experience
  • Excellent written, verbal and digital communication skills
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, interpersonal, planning, organizational, and program management skills
