Associate Director, Learning Program Management

Purpose of the role

As an Associate Director of Learning Program Management, you lead and oversee all aspects of Athena's (internal SAP environment) training activities. You collaborate closely with stakeholders to define each training project's scope, objectives, and deliverables, ensuring they align with the company's business goals and the specific training needs of the participants. To ensure the success of each training initiative, you'll need to develop comprehensive project plans that outline the schedule, budget, and critical milestones. You'll also be responsible for managing stakeholder communication and engagement throughout the lifecycle of each training activity. You provide regular updates and proactively address any concerns that may arise. Furthermore, you identify potential problems, implement corrective actions to mitigate them and ensure the project's success. Monitoring and evaluating the completion and effectiveness of each training initiative is essential for continuous improvement. By effectively leading and overseeing the training activities, you'll play a vital role in supporting the company's success and the professional development of its employees.

Main responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee Athena's end-to-end training activities.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define scope, objectives, and deliverables, ensuring alignment with business goals and training needs.​
  • Develop detailed project plans, schedules, and budgets, and track progress against milestones and key performance indicators (KPIs).​
  • Identify resources, including subject-matter experts and trainers. ​
  • Manage stakeholder communication and engagement throughout the lifecycle of training activities, providing regular updates and addressing concerns proactively.​
  • Identify and mitigate risks and issues that may impact training delivery, implementing corrective actions as necessary to ensure project success.​
  • Monitor and evaluate training completion and effectiveness, soliciting participant and stakeholder feedback and making improvement recommendations.​
  • Ensure compliance with organizational policies and regulatory requirements.​
  • Manage training wrap-around activities, including user engagement and communications.

Your profile

  • Bachelor's degree in organizational Learning and Development, Business Administration, Project Management, or a related field with a strong emphasis on corporate learning methodologies.​ MS or MBA preferred.​​
  • Proven experience managing corporate training projects, with a focus on technology implementations, preferably in SAP.
  • Strong project management skills, including the ability to develop project plans, allocate resources, and track progress effectively. A mix of waterfall and agile methodologies (Scrum and SAFe) will be used to manage associated projects.
  • Advanced problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to navigate complex and ambiguous situations.​
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.​
  • Solid understanding of learning technology, instructional design principles and adult learning theories.​​
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent, or comparable certifications or experience leading an Agile project team. ​
  • Experience working with SAP or similar enterprise software platforms.​
  • Familiarity with change management principles and methodologies.​
  • Experience managing cross-functional teams and vendor relationships.​
  • Experience with project management tools such as Jira.
