Eaton’s EPG CHD EP Americas division is currently seeking a Machine Operator 1st Shift. This position requires ability to perform functions and duties in the foundry related to finishing a casting, including shakeout, shot blasting, sorting, and visual inspection.

The hourly rate for this position is $17.91 - $22.39 per hour. The core hours are 4:00am to 12:30pm.

What you’ll do:

  • Visually inspect and manually sort castings according to finishing needs
  • Use snag grinder and/or face grinder to remove casting defects following established procedures
  • Place castings in appropriate containers to prevent product mixing
  • Perform a variety of duties to clean castings using shot-blast machine
  • Direct castings from conveyor into tubs on the shakeout operation
  • Handle castings and visually inspect and sort castings according to finishing needs
  • Perform material handling duties as required
  • Maintain work area in a clean and orderly manner
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED from an accredited institution
  • Must be able to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now and within the future
  • 1 year of experience in a manufacturing setting
  • No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates within a 50-mile radius of Amarillo, TX will be considered. Active Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Prior experience using grinding wheels
  • Prior experience in an industrial setting
  • Understanding of material movement

Skills:

  • Understand and utilize the lockout/tagout procedures
  • Work at varied heights using fall protection as required
  • Ability to climb ladders
  • Ability to work around molten metal and in a production environment that is hot and subject to unexpected swings of overtime (ability to flex personal schedule to cover tasks on other shifts)
  • Ability to communicate effectively and work with all employees throughout plant
  • This work station requires the employee to be alert for risks while performing repetitive work on an abrasive grinding wheel.
  • Employee must be able to work in a heavy industrial environment with large manufacturing equipment for 10 hour days.
