Eaton’s IS AER MSD division is currently seeking a Manufacturing Tech IV (TIG Weld) - 2nd Shift.

The hours for this role are 3p-1130p

The hourly rate for this position is $30.00 - $32.00 per hour.

What you’ll do:

Manufacturing technicians are responsible for performing welding, assembly, and test processes on aerospace hardware. Development of hardware, creating functional test setups, working with various high pressure gases, and initiating engineering collaboration to successfully deliver quality aerospace components and systems. Technicians are Responsible for communicating and coordinating with the Production Supervisor regarding specific production needs (part availability, equipment, production status, and schedule updates) to ensure on-time delivery. Perform assembly and testing of production hardware within the confines of the systems and procedures and the certified operator system.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Independently perform manufacturing processes on complex assemblies and weldments following written instructions.
  • Detailed knowledge of GTAW (TIG) manual welding processes, pneumatic, vibration, thermal and Lot Acceptance test requirements and equipment to evaluate aerospace systems.
  • Experienced in the use of GTAW (TIG) welding equipment, Pressure gauges, flowmeters, relief valves, and/or transducers to create test setups per engineering diagrams and customer specifications.
  • Detailed knowledge in complex mechanical and/or electrical assemblies with a familiarity in component surface finishes and aerospace cleanliness requirements.
  • Thorough Understanding of mechanical blueprints and electrical schematics.
  • Skilled at diagnosing and troubleshooting weldment, electrical and mechanical assemblies and high pressure test equipment issues.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma OR GED
  • Associates Degree in Mechanical/Electrical Technology OR equivalent experience
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience with manual GTAW (TIG) welding as a certified welder to an industry specification (AWS, ASME, etc)
  • Minimum of 6 years of relevant Aerospace manufacturing experience OR minimum 8 years Military Experience OR minimum 10 years of relevant Manufacturing experience
  • US Citizen or Permanent Resident

Preferred:

  • Electronics assembly and Inspection experience (Certified in J-STD-001 and or IPC-A-610)
  • Strong understanding of Lean, Six Sigma, Cellular Manufacturing, One Piece Flow, and Continuous Improvement concepts
  • Previous AWS D-17.1 Weld Certification
