Stryker is seeking to hire a Manufacturing Engineer to support Stryker’s Mako Robotic Assisted Surgery Manufacturing in Weston, Florida.

As a Manufacturing Engineer, you will provide engineering support to manufacturing processes, projects and functions in addition to product support. You will be evaluating manufacturing outcomes and implementing continuous improvements and cost efficiencies within manufacturing.

As the Manufacturing Engineer, you will also support new product, equipment and processes introduced into the manufacturing floor.

What You Will Do:

  • Provide engineering support for the Stryker Robotics manufacturing process (Mako) by prescribing rework and quarantining nonconforming components and assemblies
  • Support production troubleshooting, evaluate manufacturing outcomes, implementing continuous improvement initiatives
  • Support manufacturing equipment qualifications and process validations.
  • Improves manufacturing efficiency by analyzing and planning workflow, space requirements, and equipment layout
  • Provides manufacturing decision-making information by calculating production, labor, and material costs; reviewing production schedules; estimating future requirements
  • Assures product and process quality by designing testing methods; testing finished- product and process capabilities; establishing standards; confirming manufacturing processes.
  • Evaluate opportunities for Ergonomic solutions and technology implementation
  • Drives supplier initiated changes to products and processes
  • Support of nonconformance (NCs) and corrective & preventative actions (CAPAs)
  • Creates, writes, and modifies work instruction procedures
  • Conducts gauge studies (R&R, capability) using Minitab
  • Performs design work of basic to high complexity using SolidWorks
  • Interpret and revise engineering drawings & technical documentation

What You Need:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering required Mechanical, Industrial, Electrical, Biomedical, Manufacturing, or Robotics Engineering
  • 1-3 years’ related professional experience required
  • Advanced degree in a technical discipline, preferred
  • Experience with robotics, preferred
  • Experience in medical device industry or regulated industry, preferred
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment, preferred

Additionally, you should be able to:

  • Generate, follow and explain detailed proposals and operating procedures (i.e. assembly instructions, inspection procedures, and capital project proposals)
  • Analyze and correct complex product and/or process issues using independent judgment
  • Routinely make decisions that affect immediate operations
  • Plan, organize, and implement multiple concurrent tasks
  • Use analytical skills including mechanical and/or electrical problem solving.
  • Use basic statistical knowledge to analyze and make decisions using datasets
  • Use knowledge of GD&T to interpret and modify engineering drawings and analyze tolerance stacks
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, presentation skills
