What you will do-

You will be responsible for the equipment, processes and projects associated with the additive manufacturing cell. This includes Direct Metal Laser Sintering (DMLS) and Selective Laser Sintering (SLS). You will be responsible for equipment qualifications (3D printers, ancillary and support equipment, tooling, etc.), process characterizations and validations (overall and part specific), project coordination (continuous improvements) as well as cross-cultural (global) interactions and relationship building. You will also be responsible for the ongoing production and continuous improvements of printed (growth) parts.

Additional responsibilities:

  • Assure that processes produce quality products in a timely and economical manner that maintains compliance with government regulations
  • Project management of continuous improvements, sustaining activities while supporting process development, capital projects, and cost reduction activities within the business unit
  • Equipment/process characterizations, qualifications and validations of 3D printers, ancillary and support equipment, tooling, etc.
  • Write clear and accurate equipment and process procedures and work instructions
  • Train other engineers, technicians and production operators on the use of equipment / processes developed
  • Take lead of business-critical Root Cause Investigations with a group of cross functional Engineers
  • Provide technical and operational support to manufacturing operations

What you need

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or applied science required
  • 4+ years of engineering experience required
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, a process improvement orientation and the ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment required
  • Capable of working as part of a multi-disciplined team, while processing the products through the production environment, utilizing engineering prints and material specifications required
  • 1+ years of additive manufacturing experience -highly preferred
  • Project management experience through the delivery of business-critical projects in a highly matrixed environment -preferred
