Eaton’s Commercial & Residential Distribution Solutions division is currently seeking an Assembly Technician I-Material Handler (Fabrication) to join our team on 2nd shift. This position is based at our Hodges, SC location.

Hourly Rate: Starting at $15.11

Shift Premium: $1.00/Hour

Position Overview:

The Assembler I- Material Handler will be responsible for achieving daily production goals with focus on safety, quality, delivery, inventory, and productivity. This role will be responsible for the control of productive materials and expedite shortages for the fabrication area.

They will work with a team and flex in all areas of the assembly operation as needed. Demonstrate commitment and customer focus through daily productivity.

In this function you will:

  • Use a variety of material handling equipment and hand tools to unload and load trucks arriving or leaving from receiving area and for placing material in the proper bin location or delivering material to the work centers.
  • Open crates, boxes, barrels and separate materials. Verify raw materials received against receivers obtained from computer.
  • Alert production planner and/or supply chain department when discrepancies in order occurs. Reconcile errors. Place correct receiver with raw material.
  • Use computer to determine proper warehouse location before storing material.
  • Issue raw material from warehouse locations and deliver to work stations as required on MI.
  • Use material handling equipment, including powered industrial vehicles, to move product and supplies. May lift and carry up to 50 lbs. and push or pull up to 100 lbs. occasionally with assistance.
  • Perform physical count of inventory regularly.
  • Using maintenance schedule and appropriate equipment, maintain forklift and forklift battery.
  • Observe all safety and hygiene requirements as specified or directed. Maintain a clean, orderly and safe workplace.

Qualifications

Required (Basic) Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or G.E.D.
  • Minimum of 1 year of materials &/or manufacturing experience in an industrial manufacturing environment.
  • Prior experience operating a powered industrial vehicle (e.g., Forklift)
  • Authorized to work in the United States without Company sponsorship
  • Must reside within a 50 mile radius from worksite

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Vocational certification or degree in manufacturing field
  • 1 years of manufacturing experience
  • Prior experience utilizing inventory system controls (e.g., AS400, DMM)
