Eaton’s Power Components Division is seeking a Senior Buyer/Planner to join our team. This position is based out of our Beaver, PA location. Must reside within a 50-mile radius of the work location(s) listed on this posting. No relocation is being offered for this role.

Position Overview:

The Senior Buyer/Planner will be responsible for the timely procurement of materials and related production support activities. This role will be responsible for resolving any procurement, quality, invoice, production and inventory-related issue, including appropriate ERP transactions. This position will report directly to the Supply Chain Manager and interface with customer service, internal and external suppliers, Product Engineering, and Production to ensure a high level of support to satisfy the customer.

Essential Functions:

  • Balance inventory and manage fill rate to deliver maximum value.
  • Through MRP review, forecast management, and vendor collaboration, ensure product availability.
  • Review requisitions, place purchase orders, issue change notices, review exception messages, and follow up and expedite delivery of materials or services to ensure adherence to production schedules and delivery to meet supplier on-time delivery (SOTD) goals.
  • Monitor in-stock and delivery status to take expediting steps and share accurate "available to promise" information with key internal stakeholders.
  • Maximize effective use of the ERP system and other company technology platforms to increase material management efficiency.
  • Maintain Material Master records for assigned materials; Ensure accurate ERP records and source lists to reconcile supplier invoices for payment promptly.
  • Understand system queries in the operating system by writing or running queries as required.
  • Cycle count and reconcile ERP inventory, including support of physical inventory to ensure inventory accuracy within a goal.
  • Review and maintain internal/external Kanban replenishment, vendor-managed programs, scheduling agreements and blanket orders.
  • Ensure work orders for their areas of responsibility are current, not past due, and not in pick status for long periods
  • Define and apply complex data analysis and analytical tools for process improvements.
  • Drive process channel knowledge for acquiring materials and/or services to ensure delivery requirements for commodities and/or service customers.
  • Provide reporting and deliver annual cost reduction/process improvement goals to support facility metrics.
  • Complete understanding of total supply chain logistics.

Qualifications

Required (Basic) Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution.
  • Three (3) years of purchasing and negotiation experience.
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship.
  • Must reside within a 50-mile radius of the work location(s) listed on this posting. No relocation is being offered for this role.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Five (5) years of purchasing and negotiation experience
  • Planning experience
  • Certification in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM)
  • APICS Certification.

Position Criteria:

  • Technical knowledge:
    • Understanding of customer requirements, quality requirements, and lead times.
    • Expert knowledge in work order management, scheduling, production, capacity planning
    • BOM material management, item master setup, MRP principles
    • Has expert experience in demand planning and scheduling.
    • Strong communication and customer care skills when interacting with internal and/or external customers.
    • Sound knowledge of supply chain and purchasing reporting systems.
    • Sound knowledge of Eaton commodity products and supplier resources.
    • Sound knowledge of quality assurance and reporting accuracy.
    • Sound knowledge and application skills of process improvement.
    • Possesses excellent problem-solving skills in complex and demanding situations requiring continuous priority changes.
