Eaton’s Electrical Critical Power and Digital Infrastructure Division is currently seeking a Material Planner to join our team. This position is based at our Raleigh, NC facility. Relocation benefits will be provided within the United States only.

The Material Planner is responsible for inventory procurement activities, aligning purchasing strategies to best achieve the customer’s requirements and managing supplier capacity and inventory levels for a specified group of products.

In this function you will:

  • Plan and purchase all raw materials and manufactured parts for assigned production lines and or vendors utilizing SAP ERP system ensuring customer demand is met.
  • Maintain accurate and updated records and files for products/services assigned, such as purchase orders, quotations, correspondence, supplier management and/or organizational charts.
  • Manage and communicate demand requirements with manufacturing and supplier, considering capabilities/capacities to ensure completion of customer requirements.
  • Align strategies to meet Plant and Divisional metric measurement goals, such as on time delivery, cost reduction and quality.
  • Analyze data and prepare reports as needed to facilitate and recommend actions to ensure optimal supply chain execution.
  • Resolve supplier non-conforming Material Notices for products assigned and obtain cost recovery for supplier related problems.
  • Provide back up support for other planners on the team.

Qualifications

Required (Basic) Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum of three (3) months of internship or co-op experience in supply chain or operations.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship, now or in the future.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management.
  • Minimum of two (2) years experience in supply chain or operations.
  • SAP Experience.
  • Microsoft Office proficiency.
  • CPIM or other supply chain certification.
  • Basic knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma concepts and tool sets as they relate to production scheduling and materials management.

Position Success Criteria:

  • Ability to demonstrate knowledge of ERP requirements and customer order processing
  • Basic understanding of bill of materials, product costing, order entry, and typical supply chain functions.
  • Ability to demonstrate problem solving and analytical skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to present data effectively to support recommendations regarding supply/demand plan.
  • Ability to adjust work priorities to meet continuously changing schedules
  • Maintaining sense of urgency to customers’ requirements.
