Job Summary

The Production Control Technician provides support to development and administration of policy in land use, facility utilization and community development planning programs at USAKA/RTS.
Principal Accountabilities
  • Composes correspondence, collects, complies and analyses moderately complex data and information.
  • Performs field investigations to ensure projects conform to the USAKA/RTS Installation Design Guide, Army Regulations (ARs) and Performance Work Statement (PWS).
  • Assists Master Planner with the following tasks: Development and implementation of the Installation Status Report (ISR), Development & update of the Real Property Master Plan (RPMP), Space utilization and allocation surveys/reports, Development of Real Property Planning Board (RPPB) briefs, and Public Works Annual Work Plan development
  • Prepares planning and staff reports, meeting agendas, and auto-CAD details associated with land use, facility development, community development planning programs.
  • Participates in planning projects that range from routine to moderately difficult; and performs related work as assigned
  • Perform routine to moderately difficult assignments under decreasing degrees of supervision and direction.
  • Understand and apply regulations, policies, procedures and standards pertaining to the planning process; interpret maps, site and building plans and specifications.
  • Research, analyze and summarize planning data; make presentations of ideas and recommendations; familiarization and use of engineering technical libraries.
  • Prepare clear and concise reports, correspondence and other written materials.
  • Exercise sound judgment with established guidelines and supervisory direction.
  • Maintain effective working relationships with those encountered in the course of work.
  • Upon request, supports the Public Works Real Property Administrator, Work Control/ Work Management department, CMMS Administrator and Customer Service Desk.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements

  • Two (2) years experience in a Public Works Engineering or Planning environment with one year auto-CAD experience.
  • Ability to perform work while wearing personal protective equipment including vest and helmet.
  • Maintains valid driver's license.
  • Good oral and written communication skills.
  • Able to utilize relevant skills sets, such as map interpretation, building plans, research, graphics, statistical data and auto-CAD.
  • Intermediate/advance computer skills to include competent MS-Office Suite software skills.
  • Information management skills such as those required to utilize computer maintenance management systems (CMMS), i.e., MP3, KEAMS, and PEMAC.
  • Ability to repeatedly lift and move up to fifty (50) pounds in a field environment
  • Living and working conditions at assignment location could be remote and uncomfortable
  • Long hours, exposure to weather and hazardous conditions
  • Personnel should be aware of moving on short notice and under adverse conditions
  • US Citizen of Permanent Resident

Preferred Qualifications

  • Five (5) years associate master planner experience in a Public Works environment preferred.
  • Associate's degree in urban planning, engineering, public administration or related field preferred.
